🕰️📦 THE NEW TIME CAPSULE IS COMING ALONG! 🔧

We’ve got some more photos and videos from the brilliant apprentices at Gateshead College, who are hard at work making our new Time Capsule! 👏

It’s great to see it starting to come together now — lots of cutting, welding and plenty of hard work going on behind the scenes. 🔥🔧

We love being able to follow the progress and see the apprentices bringing their design to life. ❤️

Not long now until it gets its first job….

🕰️📦 THE NEW TIME CAPSULE IS STARTING TO TAKE SHAPE! 🔧

We have an update from the apprentices at Gateshead College who are making our new Time Capsule! 👏

They’ve now cut all the sheets of metal, tack welded the four sides together and got the feet welded on. 🔧

It’s thought that by Thursday they’ll have all the sides fully welded and can then start working on the opening and seals.

We’ll keep sharing the updates as it starts to come together. 🕰️📦

🕰️📦 A NEW TIME CAPSULE… AND SOME VERY TALENTED STUDENTS! 📦🕰️

We’ve got some news to share! ❤️

We recently reached out to Gateshead College to see if they might be able to help us with the new Kibblesworth Time Capsule — and they’ve got on board with the project! 🎉

The Engineering and Welding students have been working on the design for our new capsule as part of a real-world project brief. 🔧⚙️

And look what they’ve come up with! 👀

The design is now being developed ready for the students to get involved in fabricating and welding the new capsule!

It gives the students experience of:
🔧 Design and engineering
🔥 Fabrication and welding
📋 Working to a real client brief
🤝 Community engagement
🏛️ Being part of a local heritage project

But that’s not all…

Gateshead College’s Media students are also being brought into the project! 📸🎥

Along with Digital Voice that could include filming the dig, photographing the day, interviewing local residents and the people whose original items are discovered, creating social media content and even producing some documentary-style footage of the whole project. 🎬

How brilliant is that?! 🥰

A massive thank you to everyone at Gateshead College for getting behind the project and giving the students the chance to be part of something a little bit different! ❤️

We’ll be sharing plenty more of their work as it develops! 👀🔧📸
