In London it’s best to walk and talk, look up, hop into a museum, sit along the river or in a park, visit a market or two. This August 8th-11th you can do all that AND play your ukulele or listen to some incredible musicians before they make their way to Ukulele Festival of Great Britain Whether you come with friends or are heading out solo we’ve got you covered for ukulele joy!
Saturday 8th Patch Ukulele Band will be performing at Richmond Library.
Saturday afternoon join us for a park busk in Kensington Gardens with a special performance from the Langley Ukulele Ensemble
Sunday 9th join us for a Flashmob at Duck Pond Market, Heron Square, Richmond then take a stroll along the river to Ham House, hop on the Hammerton ferry, take a short walk to Twickenham and take part in a 2nd Flashmob, a jam and see performances from Langley Ukulele Ensemble, Patch Ukulele Band and loads of 60s inspired bands at 60s Day Twickenham.
Monday 10th for anyone in Camden Peter Luongo will be running a workshop at Castlehaven Community Association. Following that we will be busking in Castlehaven Community Park with performances from the Castlehaven Ukulele Players, the Langley Ukulele Players and Legacy Ukulele Players
Tuesday 11th in the morning we have a teachers workshop at Old Diorama Arts Centre led by Peter Luongo which includes a performance from the Langley Ukulele Ensemble.
In the evening we are having a fundraising Summer Ukulele Party at The Cabbage Patch, Twickenham that includes performances from Patch Ukulele Band, the Langley Ukulele Ensemble, Daniel Ward and Heidi Swedberg and the Legacy Ukulele Ensemble. There will be pizza!
Amidst a busy sightseeing schedule the Langley Ukulele Ensemble will also be busking in various places.
Following this fun week we will be making our way to Cheltenham. We will be there to take any ukulele donations and have a stand to sell merch and some exciting fun ways you can support the Ukulele Projects!
