Age UK Gateshead We are a registered charity working to improve the lives of people aged 50+ living in Gateshead

Set up in 1972, Age UK Gateshead is an independent autonomous local Charity and a member of the national Age England Association. Together our team of staff and volunteers provide services or run activities for approximately 800 people per week. We provide services such as, information & advice, Day Centres, social groups and healthy lifestyle classes.

Our boots were well and truly scootin’ on Monday at our first Line Dancing session at FACT Cancer Support and what a turnout! 🙌

Safe to say we had a few natural cowgirls in the room! 🤠😂

And we’re doing it all again next week!

Our Gen Xercise timetable is full of classes designed to get you moving, build strength, improve balance and keep you feeling good - without taking itself too seriously.

Here at Age UK Gateshead, we love any excuse celebrate - but today is extra special!
And let’s be honest; if any charity was going to be specialist on older people - we would be up there with the cream of the crop!!

We celebrate older people EVERY day, but today is extra special; so we’d like to take a moment to thank all our service users for allowing us to be part of your journey, in whichever way we can be.

Whether its;
🤍help with your will
🤍popping round for a natter when you are lonely
🤍coming to one of our award winning exercise classes
🤍getting picked up for a day out with us
🤍coming to us for help with benefits or attendance allowance
🤍 ringing for a little advice when you’re not sure on what your next steps are

Ladies Day was on tour again, and this time we headed to The Skiff Inn
Delicious food, plenty of laughs and, thanks to Papa Joe and his fabulous team, the ladies were treated like absolute royalty 👑💅 Safe to say, we could definitely get used to this kind of treatment!

Another Ladies Day well spent… although expectations for the next trip have now been set VERY high 😂💛

We will definitely be back!
