What an incredible week it's been for everyone at Gateshead Sea Cadets! ⚓🎉

Our amazing cadets and staff have been busy achieving some fantastic milestones:

🌟 Two cadets attended Northern Area Summer Camp.
🎉 One cadet became our first Petty Officer Cadet (POC) in over 10 years – an outstanding achievement!
👏 Another cadet successfully gained their Advanced Peer Educator.
🫡Our very own Officer in Charge achieved her Drill Instructors
⚓ We were also delighted to welcome four new cadets to the unit!

And the excitement didn't stop there! Our band members travelled to SCTC Caledonia to continue preparing for the National Band Competition later this month. It was a weekend packed with precision drill, plenty of music, teamwork, and lots of fun. They even got a sneak peak of the Royal Air Force band ahead of their performance at the Edinburgh Tattoo!

Week after week, our cadets continue to make us proud with their dedication, enthusiasm, and willingness to challenge themselves. We can't wait to see what they achieve next!

A huge congratulations to POC Suzie on successfully passing her POC Board this week! 👏⚓

This is an incredible achievement and one that makes history for our unit, as Suzie will become Gateshead Sea Cadets' first Petty Officer Cadet in over 10 years.

Suzie has worked tirelessly to reach this milestone, showing dedication, commitment and determination every step of the way. Not only has she excelled in her own cadet journey, but she is always willing to give back, supporting and encouraging our younger cadets and setting a fantastic example for everyone at the unit.

We couldn't be prouder of everything you have achieved, Suzie. This is thoroughly deserved, and we can't wait to see what you accomplish next.

What a great night tonight, our amazing Juniors created their Virtual Summer Camp Scrap books, whilst our NEC's were learning our values and the sea cadet promise. Our AC's were practicing their power of command and our newly promoted cadets practicing drill.

Last week was a very busy week at the unit we have cadets taking part in there basic catering. They made all our staff amazing cups of tea and coffees thank you they where lovely, we have also seen our caterers make rice crispy cakes which were a really nice treat for us at the end of the night. We seen our juniours create there own bridge in STEM activities, talking about the different designs and how to make it stronger well done keep up the hard work. And to top the week off, some of our amazing cadets were promoted! Well done and keep up the hard work!
