Last week was a very busy week at the unit we have cadets taking part in there basic catering. They made all our staff amazing cups of tea and coffees thank you they where lovely, we have also seen our caterers make rice crispy cakes which were a really nice treat for us at the end of the night. We seen our juniours create there own bridge in STEM activities, talking about the different designs and how to make it stronger well done keep up the hard work. And to top the week off, some of our amazing cadets were promoted! Well done and keep up the hard work!

Our juniours have had a great few weeks learning about water saftey and practicing heaving lines well done. They have also created their own ships crest to display around the unit and they look amazing.

A busy weekend for our cadets at the weekend. Our amazing cadets achieved 3 paddle starts, 3 power level one and 3 go row 2, with 1 cadet working towards her go row 3. Then to finish off the day a dip in the Tyne for the swim tests. We would like to give a massive thank you to Newburn Sea Cadets for helping us get out on the water at the weekend!

🤫 We've been keeping a little secret for the past few weeks...

Now that all the paperwork has been completed and approval has officially been given, we're excited to announce the launch of our brand-new Junior Section! 🎉

Starting soon, our junior members will parade every Monday evening from 18:00–20:00.

This section is open to Young people aged 9–12 years old and is a fantastic opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills, build confidence, and become part of our organisation.

We're looking forward to welcoming our first intake of juniors and beginning this exciting new chapter.

Busy weekend this weekend for our cadets we have 8 cadets and 2 staff on the Area Band weekend at SCTC Caledonia practicing for the national band competition, and 5 of our amazing cadets at Derwentaugh learning new boating skills. We hope you all have an amazing time and can't wait to hear all about it on Monday 🎺🛥

Last night, our cadets began the evening with some drill practice before our amazing Leading Cadets took charge of three different leadership tasks. Each activity demonstrated different leadership styles, giving all cadets a chance to learn, take part, and build confidence.

We all had an amazing time, and it was lovely to welcome some new cadets to the unit. We look forward to seeing you all on Thursday for band! 🎺

A massive well done to our cadets last week, we now have 6 cadets with basic First Aid and 1 cadet promoted to Able Cadet.
