Well done to everyone who completed our recent Cooking with Confidence course! 👏

We were delighted to present certificates to celebrate everyone’s hard work and achievements - over the twelve week sessions, participants learned new skills, tried new foods, built confidence in the kitchen and successfully completed their YVC Food Hygiene course.

Well done and happy cooking 👩‍🍳🍽️

We recently celebrated the first year of our Travelling with Confidence project with a very special event 🎉

Over the past year, this fantastic project has supported people with learning disabilities and autistic people to travel more confidently using public transport. Together we've trained Travel Champions, carried out quality checks and supported ourselves and others to explore new places.

The event was a wonderful opportunity to say thank you to everyone involved, celebrate everything we've achieved together and look ahead to year two.

It was also lovely to make the most of our community garden on a beautiful sunny day. It's looking fantastic thanks to all the volunteers who've worked with us to tidy and develop the space 🌞

Shaping the future of advocacy together 🤝

Our local advocacy teams meet every month but our last team meeting was special because it was a full service meeting with everyone in the same room

This was a fantastic morning where we could reconnect, welcome new colleagues and share our successes and practical learning.

One of the highlights was an exercise where we imagined the Advocate of 2030 and developments we'd like to see in our sector. Advocacy leads in care homes, stronger community links and technology that reduces administration were just some of the things in our vision.

We're excited to keep building on these ideas as we shape the future of our service together 💙
