One doctor. 215 miles. Over 25,000 feet of climbing. A huge challenge all in aid of Tiny Lives. πŸ—»πŸš΄

This August, Dr. Richard Hearn, Consultant Neonatologist and Head of Department at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, will cycle the Southern Upland Way, a demanding off-road route across Scotland, all to raise funds for Tiny Lives.

Dr. Hearn will complete the 215-mile route unsupported, carrying all his own equipment, sleeping in sleeping bag or bothies, and relying on local shops and cafes to resupply. He plans to finish the journey in just seven days, tackling steep climbs and rugged terrain along the way.

Having served as a Trustee of Tiny Lives for nine years, Dr. Hearn wanted to do something special as he comes to the end of his time on the charities board (we'll miss him dearly!) πŸ’›

β€œWithout Tiny Lives, the work we do on the neonatal unit would be significantly harder. This challenge is my way of giving back,” he says.

You call follow his progress on , read more about his challenge by visiting our website or donate to his fundraising page here - https://www.justgiving.com/page/richard-hearn-1

We're sure you'll all get behind Dr. Hearn as he takes on this incredible journey to help premature and sick newborn babies and their families! πŸ₯°
