Foundations Furniture Community furniture charity for Gateshead residents. We collect donated items within Tyne & Wear. We have no strict eligibility criteria in place at Foundations.

All prices shown are for people in financial hardship or in receipt of welfare benefits living within the Gateshead borough boundary. Our charity supports households from across the Gateshead Borough, helping them to lead safe, settled and comfortable home lives during times of hardship. All of our furniture, large appliances and electrical items are available to any Gateshead resident who is expe

riencing difficulties affording furniture. We support any household that is experiencing furniture poverty, for any reason. Many of the households we help are in receipt of benefits, but we also help lots of households that are not receiving a benefit but might be struggling financially for other reasons. There is no need to make an appointment to view our charity’s furniture showrooms. Call in any time between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) and we can usually deliver within a few days. We also have furniture and appliances that anyone can buy on Facebook Marketplace. Each sale on Marketplace supports our charity, so we can continue to help local households in need. Our work is made possible thanks to the generosity of residents who donate furniture and appliances to us, which we collect free of charge in and around Tyne and Wear. Can you donate a household item to help someone local to live in safety and comfort at a vulnerable period of their lives? Simply give us a call or a direct message and we can explain the quick and easy process of donating furniture. We can usually collect within a few days! Each and every item donated to us is always used in a way that can support a local household in financial hardship and crisis.
