A HUGE thank you to everyone who came along this week to celebrate and wish us well... your support truly means the world to us. We simply wouldn’t be here without you.

In the meantime, we’d like to say a very special thank you to Pitch Wilson, former Mayor of Gateshead, who originally opened the building back in 2000. Thank you for coming out of retirement for one day only to carry out your civic duties once again and wish us well for the next 25 years 😇

From the music collective of the ’80s, the music project of the ’90s, the management committee of the 2000s, and our Charity Trustees from 2014 onwards We did it. We stayed open! 🥳

Extra thanks must also go to the keyholders, project leaders, studio caretakers, tea and coffee makers, and everyone else who champions our little music project and keeps the doors open week after week. 🎶

🚀 Something exciting is coming to Gateshead!

We’re launching our new Youth Directory at a FREE event on 21 August from 1pm at Trinity Square.

🎈 Join us for the official launch event and be among the first to discover how this new website can help you make the most of living in Gateshead.

Open to the youth of Gateshead (11yrs +), the event will include FREE activities running all afternoon, including; a climbing wall, penalty shootouts, crafts, music and lots more.

🎶 It's not all about the music at The Soundroom...

We all love our old library building but as many of you know, it takes quite a bit of TLC to keep everything running smoothly!

A massive shoutout to our recent work experience crew: Paddy, Caleb, and Ollie you did a top-notch job sorting and testing all the equipment. We're sure everyone noticed the big interior tidy-ups too. 👏

And an extra thank you to Ollie, Theo & friend for coming back in to help finish off the car park jobs. Absolute legends! 🙌

(P.S. Special mention to Steve and Austin for some premium backseat gravelling 😂)

We had the absolute pleasure of watching a special preview of the most amazing puppet theatre show over the weekend!
Created by Life and Limb Puppets At Sea - a magical ocean adventure is brought to life through beautiful puppetry, original music, and creative storytelling.

If you’ve got little ones, we highly recommend heading to Alphabetti Theatre next week before it’s too late and this magical show sets sail around the country, part of the National Theatre programme! 🎭
🗓️ At Sea runs from August 16th to 23rd, and the first few performances include Pay What You Feel and Concession rates.
🙌A huge thank you to Life and Limb Puppets for sharing such a magical afternoon with us.
