We had a wonderful time at the St Helens Church open afternoon. It was lovely to meet everyone, particularly the ladies who are now grandmothers who shared their breastfeeding experiences with me and said how much they’d wished B**b Club had been around when they’d been on their breastfeeding journeys. I wish that too!

Join us at B**b Club this Wednesday and every Wednesday, 10am - 11.30am

I’m really excited (and a bit shocked!) to share that one of our lovely B**b Clubbers, Victoria Smith has nominated me, Lindsey Blair, for Volunteer of the Year in the Gateshead Awards 💛

Part of the nomination means I need to ask for votes, so if you feel B**b Club has helped you in any way or you appreciate what we are doing, I’d be so grateful if you could spare a moment to vote for me. You only need to enter your name and email address and it only takes a second.

I started B**b Club because I had a really rough start breastfeeding my first baby 10 years ago. I got a lot of unhelpful advice, and it often felt like no one was really listening to what the actual issues were. I was so nervous to go out for the first four months and it was honestly such a lonely and difficult time.

I can still remember the relief in my husband’s voice when I told him I’d booked a baby massage class at The Nest Low Fell, hoping to meet some other mums and feel a bit less alone. Through those connections I met women who were having breastfeeding issues too, and from that point things got so much better. Being able to talk things through while forming friendships genuinely changed my whole world.

When I had my second baby and we faced the same issues again, I already had an in-person support network around me and it made all the difference.

Then, 7 months after my second baby was born the Covid lockdown came into effect. I remember feeling so struck by how isolated first-time mums must have been. So when Bev from The Nest asked me in 2021 if I’d like to start a breastfeeding support group, I thought about it for approximately 0.5 seconds before replying ‘YES!!’

When The Nest closed in 2023, I was incredibly lucky that Rev Yvonne and the wonderful people at St Helens Church understood what B**b Club was all about and allowed us to carry on as before.

My aim has always been to help other mums make connections and find their village. Something that is very sadly lacking for many people today and very much missed.

Thank you so much for your support, B**b Clubbers, it honestly means the world ❤️

We’re not just a group for first-time mums with newborns (although we absolutely love those tiny visitors 😃)

At B**b Club you’ll find mums with babies and toddlers chatting, feeding, chilling and
caffeinating 😎 . Some are breastfeeding, some are combination feeding, some are exclusively pumping some are pregnant, and some have finished their feeding journey altogether. All are very welcome here 💜

We’re also not just a place to come when things feel hard (though we’re always here for you when they do ♥️)

You’ll find us chatting about everything, feeding, parenting, sleep, life… and of course, what everyone’s currently watching on Netflix!

It’s simply a friendly, relaxed space.
Supportive, welcoming and free from judgement.

We’d love you to join us 💛

A very happy Mother’s Day to all of our wonderful B**b Clubbers, particularly if it’s your first 😊

We spoke about celebrations at our group this week and a common theme was wanting a bit of me time. A bath, a quiet coffee, a walk on your own or even a nap without baby attached to you. We whole heartedly support this!

Taking time refill your cup is an important part of looking after yourself and not something to feel guilty about ❤️

However you spend the day we hope it’s a fabulous one!

Today we’re celebrating the amazing women who come along to B**b Club.

Breastfeeding isn’t always easy, showing up with a newborn isn’t always easy, motherhood isn’t always easy.

But you do it anyway with love, courage and more resilience than you probably give yourself credit for.

To every mum who has came to see us, fed her baby, shared her experiences and encouraged other mums, we are celebrating you!

You are doing an amazing job ❤️

More beautiful words from our B**b Clubbers ❤️❤️

One of the loveliest parts of B**b Club is that we get to celebrate the wins together, big or small. As one B**b Clubber showed us recently, a good day is contagious! ☀️

Another B**b Clubber recently was pleased to discover that alongside breastfeeding talk, heartfelt parenting chats and shared wisdom, there’s also plenty of stimulating adult conversation and laughter. Leaving feeling happy and positive is something I hear very often 🌈

We’re so grateful for this wonderful community and for every mum who shows up every week to share their support, sunshine and funny stories with us all!

Wednesdays 10am - 11.30, St Helens Chuch Hall (just up the hill from the church itself). Free to attend and no booking required.

We’re always telling you how lovely B**b Club is… but don’t just take our word for it!

There’s something so special about hearing from the mums who have already come to see us and found support, reassurance and friendship waiting for them.

Here are some beautiful testimonials B**b Clubbers have shared about what the group meant to them ❤️

If you’re expecting a baby, newly breastfeeding, feeding a toddler or combi feeding and you’d love some friendly, in-person support, you’ll find a warm welcome, a cuppa and wonderful women who know what you’re going through at B**b Club and we’d love to see you!

Every Wednesday 10am - 11.30am St Helens Church Hall. Free to attend and no booking required.
