It’s hard to believe More Than Dance CIC Ltd turns 20 years old tomorrow! Where did the time go?
Sometimes it feels like yesterday when we met to set up More Than Dance as a CIC, we wanted to put it on a firmer foundation for the future, the ministry work that Kevin and myself were a part of became increasingly dance related, and it developed into more and more schools as well as community projects.
We were always focussed on spreading the gospel message and dance and movement became our main vehicle to explore and witness to God’s message of love, hope, connection and community. It was always about so much more than dancing…
We have loved the work, and the many children and adults who we have met over the many years as we travelled around the country and around Europe using the art form of dance as an expression of our faith.
Our Northern Saints package, dances and performances have been a particular highlight, being able to share the message of Jesus through the lives of Aidan, Cuthbert, Bede and Hild is still very close to our hearts.
Kevin and I have stepped back over the last couple of years’ and the reigns now firmly sit with Danielle and Emily to continue the work. They are full of energy and commitment, we continue to meet to share music and ideas, as well as Danielle and I doing the accounts together! 😊
What a journey – it’s our hope that More Than Dance CIC Ltd continues for years to come. We have a message to share and the world needs it now more than ever, God’s message is of hope and love which is alive, which has an energy and a power to move us all.
There’s a little more information about our journey on our website, go to www.morethandancecic.com if you’d like to read more.
We’d like to thank everyone - past directors, schools, volunteers, children and young people, community groups and our own children who allowed us to commit so much time to it in the early days so that it could become what it is today. We are so grateful for the blessing More than Dance has been and for all it has taught us along the way …
