Phoenix Explorer Scout Unit offers Scouting and for young people aged 14-18 years in South Liverpool.

We meet on Wednesday evenings 7:45 PM – 9:45 PM

Tonight was the District Explorers Annual Christmas Bake Off! Teams of Explorers from several units baked and decorated gingerbread houses which were judged on teamwork, hygiene and presentation. Well done to both our teams - one placed 3rd, and the other placed 1st (from last…!). 🎄❄️🏠

Another fabulous year . This year we took 3 teams to the event and had a unit sleepover at a local Scout hut the night before! Our leadership team also got involved helping out as scorers for the event! Thanks to the fab team who run the event - can’t wait for next year 😁

Oktoberfest Half term camp! During October half term three of our explorers planned and led an Oktoberfest themed camp, with archery, schnitzel making and Flunkyball. They enjoyed sleeping in the Laavus at Bispham Hall as well. ⛺️🏹🔥

Pumpkin Carving! This week we got into the Halloween spirit by carving pumpkins!! 🎃

Thank you to the for our grant this year! We have been able to use this to buy tents and stoves from to offer more Young People outdoor adventures like our Summer Camp and 🏕️🍳🧭🗺️

This week was BISCUIT NIGHT! 🍪 That meant a biscuit quiz, a biscuit (beetle) drive and some questionable microwave-baked biscuits. 🧑‍🍳🧯Did you know that custard creams are statistically the most dangerous biscuit?! ⚠️

Last Wednesday’s meeting focussed on Life Skills - we covered basic car and bike maintenance, as well as laundry! 🔧🚙🚲🧺 Swipe ➡️ to the end to see a reversing camera surprise! 📸 😱

The theme for this year’s summer camp was “Scotland”! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 During the week we hosted our own Ceilidh 🕺 🎻 , took part in the Highland Games 🥾, cooked a Full Scottish Breakfast 🍳, and of course had a trip into Glasgow.

We couldn’t help but get out on the water at our summer camp. With such a magnificent body of water right on the campsites edge we spent two days of summer camp this year enjoying the water (even if it rained a lot those two days). We got out sailing in our two Enterprises and began learning the ropes as well as having a play on the campsites paddle boards. ⛵️

Summer Camp 2025! This year we journeyed to Scotland to the wonderful Invertrossachs scout campsite in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. We did loads of fun activities including a hike to Aberfoyle, cooking and eating lots of yummy food and enjoying the beaufiful surroundings.
