Last night we celebrated Garforth Rangers 30th Birthday and we did it in style at the Holiday Inn.

Good food, great people, fun games and a silent disco made for an amazing night. Thanks to everyone who came and here’s to another 30 years 💪

Say hello to the new Garforth Rangers kits from the upcoming 26/27 season.

We are delighted to renew our contract with EV2 Sportswear for another 3 years and the kits look fantastic yet again.

Gala Phase 3 - Sorry not many pictures to share as we were all flat out ensuring the gala was a massive success.

The weather may not have been as nice as previous years but it didn’t seem to dampen the spirits.

We welcomed around 65 teams and over 2000 people to Garforth Academy for a day filled with fun and football. Thanks to all who came along and supported us.

Phase 4 was the clear up which is less exciting but very necessary as we clear away and put everything back into stores ready for next year.

Hopefully the U13s and their army of volunteers had a bumper year to raise funds into their tour pot to make lifetime memories.

Thanks again to Garforth and District Lions Club - CIO for the help and loan with the shelters.

Gala prep - Phase 3

Today’s army of volunteers had the task of finishing off the lines, filling holes (in sliders) thanks to Official Garforth Town AFC for the divot mix, building goals, putting up respect barriers and reviewing massive corner lines 😂.

Volunteers of the day fall to U12 girls as 7/8 parents and coaches came to help. Thanks so much it means the world 😘

The Friday team obviously rounded off the day with a 🍻.

Tomorrow the masses arrive and then we have the final and worst phase - Tidy up 🙄

Gala Prep - Phase 2

Today a small and well organised group of good looking, young (ish) men aka Elliott Thompson, Neil Wormald, Ross Carter, Chris Thackray and Paul Fearn took to the task of marking out 12 football pitches on the Garforth Academy playing fields.

Lots of string, knots, head scratching, marching, pointing and painting later and the lines are just about all down. Unfortunately the paint tubs ran dry just before all could be completed but Neil (the line master) is flying solo tomorrow and getting the job done. Deffo a job well done chaps 👏

Clubs like ours are run on volunteers just like these and many more that give up so much to help so many others do what they love.

Next phase…..let’s get them nets from the poor soul that is storing them and get them put up…..oh and fill in loads of 🐇 holes to stop kids breaking their ankles.

Gala Prep - Phase 1

This weekend we had the annual check to ensure that equipment was where we left it. Kris and Elliott also spent some quality time together in Wetherspoons finalising fixtures on Tournify.

We have now commenced operation ‘move everything to some poor souls house’.

Volunteers have started to step back slowest and are been mobilised before they change their mind.

The U13 tour team army are checking their tombola prizes all have the classic end in a 5 or 0 and scratching their heads on just how many burgers they may need.

Weds will see phase 2 where we find out if we remember how to mark 12 pitches from scratch 🤔

Well, what a trip that was for the U14 girls! 🇪🇸⚽☀️

They’ve just returned from an unforgettable few days in Benalmádena with 15 amazing girls and 14 equally amazing parents. The laughter never stopped, the drinks never stopped, and neither did the girls – whether it was football, swimming, hide and seek, or simply making memories together.

The girls represented Garforth Rangers brilliantly throughout the tour. They played two games against Spanish opposition:

⚽ Los Campanilos – a fantastic, welcoming club who made us feel right at home. The girls made new friends, had lots of fun and despite a 5-3 defeat, it was a great experience for everyone.

⚽ Cartama – a slightly different atmosphere with some less-than-friendly coaches on the sidelines, but our girls responded in the best possible way and came away with an outstanding 6-1 victory 👏

A huge thank you to all the parents for making the trip what it was, and to the girls for being a credit to the club both on and off the pitch. These are memories that will stay with us for a very long time.

Today Garforth Rangers did a thing 😊

Our tired and leaking container at our Ash Lane pitches was replaced with a shiny new one.

Thanks massively to www.talkaccess.co.uk for your assistance with ordering, delivering and disposing the old one. Such a lovely family run company.

Thanks also for the patience of the people that we temporarily inconvenienced as they were driving up/down ash lane.

🏆 PRESENTATION DAY 🏆

Yesterday we had our annual presentation which is a day to celebrate the end of another fantastic season at Rangers.

The rain held off (mainly) to allow children and adults to gather and have fun and look back at the good times they’ve had.

The FA cup final was also on show and the kids gathered to watch along, shame Leeds weren’t able to make it though.

Thanks to the U13 team for organising a fantastic event and hopefully a large amount of money into your tour pot.

Thanks to Andy and Simon for sorting all the trophies they are awesome 🏆

Now it’s onto gala season for teams and hopefully more successes to celebrate 💪
