💙What a special day at Works+ today!💙

We said goodbye to Margaret on her last day with us before she starts an exciting new chapter as Coordinator at the Galashiels and Area Food Bank. We want to thank her for everything she has done and wish her every success in her new role. You will be greatly missed, Margaret, but we know you'll do an amazing job! 🌟

We also celebrated a very special birthday today – a huge Happy Birthday to Scott! 🎉🎂 Scott enjoyed his birthday cake at Cafe ReCharge CIC, and much to his lament and our enjoyment, we got to sing him happy birthday! 🎈

A day full of goodbyes, celebrations, smiles, and memories. Wishing Margaret all the best for the future and hoping Scott has a fantastic day!

What a fantastic day out yesterday! 🌿☀️

A huge thank you to Koran and Pete from Abundant Borders, and Keith from Eyemouth Golf Club, for welcoming us and facilitating such an enjoyable and interesting trip.

We loved having a go at willow weaving and learning more about the volunteering opportunities and workshops available at Eyemouth Community Garden — such an inspiring space doing amazing work in the community. 🌱

And wow… we had no idea just how much work goes into keeping a golf course looking so fabulous! ⛳ Huge respect to the team at Eyemouth Golf Club for everything that happens behind the scenes.

It was a brilliant day of learning, laughter, fresh air and community connection. Thanks again to everyone involved! 💚

Our partners at the Scottish Historic Buildings Trust are hosting the Traditional Skills Festival in Eyemouth today from 11am–3pm outside Gunsgreen House.

Come along to:
🛠 Watch live demonstrations in traditional trades
🎨 Try hands-on workshops
🪨 Meet skilled craftspeople and trainees
🏛 Learn about heritage skills and local opportunities

Demonstrations include stone carving, decorative plastering, stained glass, sign writing and traditional paint making.

📍 Outside Gunsgreen House, Eyemouth
🕚 11am – 3pm
✅ Free drop-in event – no booking needed!

A great opportunity to explore traditional skills, meet local organisations and get inspired!

After a lovely 8 weeks together, our 16-24 employability group in Galashiels has officially come to an end 💼

It’s been such a positive experience getting to know everyone, sharing ideas, building confidence, and supporting each other along the way 🤝

I’m really proud of how far everyone has come over the past couple of months 🌟

A huge thank you to everyone involved for the encouragement, conversations, laughter, and motivation each week 💛

A few of our young people are a bit camera-shy! But each member of the group finished with a bundle of qualifications and certificates. With 100% of the group going onto positive destinations!! ✨

Wishing everyone the very best for the future and all the exciting opportunities ahead 🍀
