β€œI can see the difference volunteering makes to the lives of so many service users. I have learnt loads from the survivors I meet, and support from staff and volunteers at SBRCC is fantastic.”

We’re delighted to have been awarded Β£96,276 over 23 months through the Fairer Life Chances Fund to support our Unity service.

The funding will help us continue providing specialist support for young survivors aged 12 -18 and develop our Unity Empowerment Project, including volunteering and participation opportunities for young people across the Scottish Borders.

A huge thank you for supporting our vital work.

We just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge how difficult it is to disclose sexual violence, and to reach out for support. To our survivors who reach out to us on the phone (or in any other way), you truly are amazing. We are inspired by your courage and honoured to have an opportunity to support you.

The Forensic Medical Services Act is a change in law that took effect from 1st April 2022 which allows survivors to self-refer for Forensic Medical Exams (FMEs). This post explores what the self-referral process will look like, no matter what decisions you make after it.

If you would like to talk it through with one of our advocacy workers, give the office a call on 01896 661 070. We will be happy to help.
