A “cracking” time was had at Pudding & Pages this evening.
After a very thoughtful and thought-provoking discussion based on ‘War in Val d’Orcia’ by Iris Origo we enjoyed an absolutely delicious ‘zuppa inglese’ (English soup) pudding. Cream always produce delicious desserts but this time Mette really outdid herself and there were empty dessert glasses all round.
We then had an egg-painting contest. The winning eggs from each of the two categories, “literary” and “spring”, were Mr Bump and the chick, whose artists have both won a free ticket for June’s event, with Stephen Fry-ed Egg and Bluebells the runners up, winning 20% off a ticket to a future event.
Our next read will be ‘This Book Reminded Me of You’ by Libby Page. Keep an eye on the page for the event and ticket link to go live in the next day or two.

Thank you for your lovely message! Last night I was trying to find the first one you sent me a few days ago but it had disappeared, and this one says at the bottom that you’re “unavailable on messenger” and I’ve no option to reply.
Would you please be ok to email me? [email protected]

Thank you so much to all who bought raffle tickets for the Madlug bag raffle or made a donation to the Madlug Foundation on Thursday.
The total amount raised was £145.

I attempted to pay this into the bank on Friday to then donate to Madlug but it turns out the Post Office don’t accept payments into Nationwide accounts and the local branch of Nationwide had closed for the day. This will be paid in and donated on Monday and I will post proof of donation once this is done.
