Rotherham Council replaced 8 miles of mowed roadside grass with wildflowers.

They've saved £25,000 per year in cutting costs, and they've given a huge boost in local bees & butterflies. More British towns need to adopt this.

Thanks to Anna, Gill and Shirley who helped us plant the 13 planters round the town yesterday at Nat West, Roseway, Caskgate Street and Papas corner. Hope everyone enjoys them through the summer.
We will be carrying on with more work and planning for the 2027 town entry to East Midlands In Bloom.
Good luck to Marshall’s Yard in the Best Retail Park category being judged soon.

Sorry for the late notice but the summer plants have arrived. We will be meeting at Roseway tomorrow at 1pm to plant them in the planters round the town. Any help greatly appreciated. Usually takes us a couple of hours tops. Tools provided. Thanks.

Thanks to committee members who helped tidy Morton Corner beds yesterday and clear the planters in town in readiness for the summer bedding which should be arriving in the next few weeks to brighten things up.
Will be posting the date for planting up as any volunteers welcome (many hands make light work!)

GIB team planted up Morton Corner beds with perennials yesterday. Plants sourced through Evelyn at Laughton who donates funds to Cancer Research UK. Should look good next spring onwards.
