This week happens to be Loneliness Awareness Week!
we think quite a few of our volunteers would say that joining the volunteers in the park every week helps to combat loneliness.
It definitely lends itself to feeling part of something positive, chatting to someone and connection!
It can be really hard to join a group, especially if you haven't done it before or for along time. We hope that we create a warm welcome and remove some of the anxieties that can effect people so they can enjoy the space and the group! Why not give it a go, if its not your thing we will not be offended but it could just be the start of something good for you!

We'd like to give a huge thanks to The Vinehouse UK for donating and planting two grapevines 🍇!
Jack and Kit gave us two varieties which will thrive in the park, Muscat Alexandria (sweet taste) and Rondo (beautiful colours in Autumn). They will be using the fence and short running wires to provide support for the vines once they begin to grow taller!
This is a fantastic addition to our community wellbeing orchard and food growing area.

❗️Due to the poor weather today, our Hapa Zome and Cyanotype eco craft sessions will be rescheduled to Wednesday instead.
Join us on Wednesday from 12pm-2pm for a chance to try either of both workshops for free! 💚

Volunteers' Week: Learning Through Volunteering 🌱

One of the great things about volunteering is that you're always learning something new.

Whether it's practical gardening techniques, identifying wildlife, understanding how to care for local green spaces, or developing confidence when working with others, volunteering offers opportunities to build a wide range of skills.

Not all learning happens in a classroom! Sometimes it's sharing knowledge with fellow volunteers, trying something for the first time, or discovering a new interest you never knew you had.

Along the way, volunteers also develop valuable people skills, make new connections, and become part of a supportive community working together for a common cause.

This Volunteers' Week, we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who gives their time, shares their knowledge, and continues to learn alongside us. Your contribution helps both people and nature thrive! 💚🌿

🌿 May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Spending time outdoors, connecting with others, and having a sense of purpose can make a real difference to mental wellbeing- and that’s something we see every week through our volunteer group.

We aim to create a safe, welcoming and flexible space where people can get involved in whatever way suits them. There’s no pressure, no need for experience, and volunteers of all abilities are welcome.

Whether it’s learning new skills, building confidence, reducing social isolation, or simply getting out for some fresh air and good company, volunteering can have a positive impact on both people and nature.

If you’ve been thinking about joining a friendly local group, Volunteers’ Week, which starts next week, feels like the perfect time 💚Join us next Thursday and Friday!
