The Good Heart The Good Heart is a place in the centre of Frome dedicated to exploring kindness We offer free hot drinks to everyone and a 'pay-it-forward' scheme for meals.

The Good Heart is a Community Interest Company and a cafe in the centre of Frome dedicated to kindness. We host a regular drop-in group for Under 5's and their grown ups, alongside many other free/ low cost groups for people of all ages, backgrounds and interests. Delicious plant-based food is provided by Luna Plant-based Kitchen, Mon-Fri 12-3pm and Saturdays 12-4pm. The Good Heart is also a community venue, used regularly by local groups, and is the home of the Frome Kindness Festival!

After 3 years of monthly meet-ups, our well-loved Dying Matters group will be coming to an end this Thursday 14th May.

We are pleased to share that the much needed group will be taken over by Dorothy House Bereavement Help Point. More to come on that soon...

Every Thursday during term time, Focus Frome runs a free wellbeing drop-in café for young people aged 13–19 at The Good Heart Café.

The space offers support for teenagers struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress, bullying or other mental health challenges, with trained counsellors on hand in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

We are delighted to share that proceeds from the sale of 'On the Downs’, by Frome artist Stoney Parsons will be donated to The Good Heart!

The artwork is part of Black Swan Arts 40th anniversary major fundraising exhibition THINK XL, that brings together 40 artists connected to the organisation over the past four decades.

Pop down to The Long Gallery, in town to see the exhibition which runs until 4pm on Sunday 10 May.

A new group comes to The Good Heart!

Squiggly Minds A monthly ADHD support group for parents and carers

Parenting a child with ADHD can be full of creativity, energy and brilliant moments…but it can also feel overwhelming at times, especially when the same challenges keep coming up day to day.

This group is a space to step out of that cycle.

A calm, supportive space where you can:
• Better understand how ADHD shows up
• Explore practical, realistic ways to support your child
• Feel less alone in it all
• Connect with other parents who truly understand
It’s not about fixing anything, just understanding more, and finding ways to work with your child’s brain rather than against it

📆 First Monday of every month
🕖 7:00 – 8:30pm
👉 Starting Monday 4th May

Suggested contribution £5
(We never want cost to be a barrier, so please do reach out if needed)

A huge thank-you to everyone who supported the Kindness Festival last month: as event leaders, helpers, donors, participants, artists (through our lovely link-up with Window Wanderland) and parents, or through helping to spread the word.

Whether you were able to take part or not, please join us for the Festival After Party at Rook Lane Chapel next Thursday 23rd April (details above). This will include a premiere of videos from events that you may have missed and an opportunity (for those who wish) to share reflections and ideas for next year. Everyone is welcome.
