The team at Focus Counselling are delighted to announce our next Neurodivergent Women's Support Group, starting in February 2026.

This 12-week pilot group will run Fridays, 2-4pm, starting in February, and will be led by Hannah Stainer, an autism and ADHD specialist, and Amy Barnett, a Clinical Associate Psychologist. Both are Trainee Counselling Psychologists and neurodivergent themselves.

The group offers a safe, supportive space to:
Connect with others who share lived experience
Share stories, strategies, and encouragement
Explore identity, wellbeing, and resilience together
We set up this group because more women are coming to us with neurodivergence as one of their main presenting issues. For some, a diagnosis may have come late in life, after years of masking. This group offers a space to feel seen, heard and supported.

The group includes:
an introduction session to create the structure and focus of the group together
12 week group, including resources in each group and follow up emails
4 x 30 minutes 1:1 sessions (intake, post group and 6 and 12 month follow up)
bonus post-group resource pack
It costs over £2,500 to run a group so we ask for a donation of £15per session (depending on what you can afford).

The group is limited to 8 members.

To self-refer, request further details, or receive the mission statement, please email: [email protected]

Our new Neurodivergent Support Group for Women celebrates our differences and creates a safe space to connect, share and feel less alone.

Here's what group members have said previously...
"It has enabled me to have more self-compassion...my self-confidence with people has also improved."
"The face to face acceptance, information and support I have received from you and the other participants has been transformative."
"You have given me so much information to help me make sense of myself and tools I will definitely continue to work with."
"Week 6 and I've been more affirmed and been able to let go of more emotional baggage than in all those years [of 1:1 therapy]. I feel lighter."
"Safe space."
"Loving the helpful, practical checkouts that give us skills and techniques we can take away and use."

Because sometimes, the first step towards change is realising you don't have to do it alone.

(Focus can also offer neuroaffirmative counselling if it feels this may also be helpful or feels more appropriate for you).

This is such a wonderful community resource. We look forward to visiting x☕️❤️

Join me, Richard Beauvoisin, this Thursday as I speak with Lucia Chadwick, CEO of Focus Counselling.
We’ll talk real-life mental health — not slogans, not clichés — just what it actually takes to support people when life gets messy.
We’ll look at how Lucia got into counselling, what the role really involves, and how she switches off (including choosing to swim in freezing water, which still baffles me).
