Hedgehog Hogspital Rescue & Rehabilitation visited us last night. Look how cute Hettie is!

🦔 What a fabulous time we had last night! We welcomed Frome-based Hedgehog Hogspital Rescue & Rehabilitation and some of their supporters to our meeting this week and we even got to meet and hold Hettie, their ambassador hedgehog. What an honour!

Hettie is completely blind so stays with them permanently in order to help educate people on how to help the hogs.

Please look through our photos to see some suggestions on how YOU can help hedgehogs.

One of the best thing you can do is make a hole in/underneath your garden fence so that hogs can pass through gardens rather than along roads which are more dangerous for them. 🚗

Please also leave out a shallow bowl of water for them as they need to drink - especially in this extreme heat. 💧

Finally, if you have any old towels, fleece material (old jackets etc), old newspapers, kitten biscuits or old woolly hats (they use them as baby hoglet beds) please bring them to a future WI and we will arrange to pass them onto the hogspital (Gail or Tina are both happy to pass them on).

🦔 🦔 July Meeting - hedgehogs! 🦔 🦔

We're delighted to welcome Hilary and Kerry from Keyford Hedgehog Rescue, who will be sharing the wonderful work they do caring for hedgehogs. They'll tell us about the hedgehogs in their own garden, the rescue hedgehogs they look after, and offer plenty of advice on how you can make your own garden a safe and welcoming place for these much-loved creatures.

As always, we'll have refreshments and our small raffle, so don't forget to bring a few pennies!

Visitors are always very welcome for £5, so feel free to bring along a friend.

Today is International Thank You Day. We would like to thank all those who support WI in any way whether that be planning meetings, doing the paperwork, advising us on governance or remembering to bring milk for the tea. Whatever you do for us, thank you. We really appreciate that many hands make light work.

JUNE MEETING - AGM & CRAFTS

Our next monthly meeting is this Monday, 15th June. It is our AGM, so if you haven't been for a while, it is a fantastic time to come and hear about what we got up to last year and what we are planning for next year. We will also have a selection of craft tables for you to chose from such as needle felting and stenciling.

As usual visitors are welcome at a charge of £5, and we will have our usual selection of refreshments for you to chose from.

We look forward to seeing you all on Monday at Frome Cricket Club at 7.30pm
