MAY MEETING - ARCHAEOLOGY: A LOAD OF OLD RUBBISH?

This month we are delighted to welcome our very own Margaret who is going to give an interactive talk on archaeology. She will be bringing flints and pottery, all from surface collections, which can be handled and sorted.

She will explain what archaeology is, how it developed and how objects and sites are dated.

It promises to be a fascinating evening!

Last month we had a fantastic, practical furniture upcycling session run by Sabrina and Sharon from Bespoke Home UK. We all tried our hand at decoupage and enjoyed learning about stencilling, paint techniques and other tricks of the trade!
Thank you so much to Sabrina and Sharon.

Bath & West Show Volunteers

The WI - Somerset is still in need of some volunteers for the show, especially on Thursday 28th May, all shifts and Friday 29th May on both the 12 – 3pm and 3 – 6pm shifts. Just by helping on one shift you will receive a free ticket to the show! We can’t do it without you; your help would be much appreciated. Please contact the Somerset office if you would like to help.
