Young People Frome is very excited to announce 6 months into OUTPOST:
The OUTPOST team (17 young people) have completed 12 sessions and 1 studio take over day. The team have chosen how best they would like to work in the professional environments they have the opportunities to work in. They have chosen how best to develop themselves in developing their creative confidence, promotion and creative skills within their creative interests by planning, designing and delivering their own live music tour.
OUTPOST tech team are now trained into running the Bert Jansch Studio, to a high standard of professionalism, trained & supervised by the exceptional Delilah Johns, The Bert Jansch Studio's in-house engineer.
OUTPOST songwriters and musicians are writing, recording and producing three original songs.
Senior young volunteer songwriter & Tour Coordinator is planning the OUTPOST teams 1st tour, taking the team out from the studio environment into live events & performance commencing February 2027.
Senior young volunteer in Visual Arts Media, Photography and Film is documenting the programme and supporting a small team in developing their skills in photography & film for music and live performance - photos & film included in post.
Senior young volunteer in Music has supported other young people to gain confidence in playing musical instruments as part of a group.
This is an exceptional amount of work achieved, considering the team meet fortnightly for 1.5hrs sessions.

As well as this incredible work and achievement, it is with even greater pleasure to announce that the OUTPOST team's programme is now supported by Octagon Music Hub, funded by Arts Council England and the Department for Education.

OUTPOST has now become a part of the wider creative services, teams and organisations in Dorset & Somerset that support the music and creative services in Dorset and Somerset.

OUTPOST a Young Peoples Co-Designed and Delivered creative arts development programme can now develop with even more confidence with this backing. Empowering Young People to have a creative voice and influence, co-designing and delivering creative opportunities for other young people across Somerset & Dorset.

Young People Frome is very proud of what the OUTPOST team has achieved in such a short time. Awesome work by all, thank you :-)
