🥳 This evening we held a 40th Birthday Party for Beavers!

We played games, ate cake, made balloon giraffes and since it was the last session of the term awarded a huge amount of badges that our Beavers earned over the last several sessions, including the 40th Anniversary occasional badge!

Well done Beavers and have a great Summer!

The Beavers took part in an incident hike around Delamere Forest where they learned what they should do in case of emergency and how to give basic first aid.

We had a fantastic weekend at our combined Beaver & Cub Summer Camp at Queen Charlotte's Wood.

⛺ Cubs camped on the Saturday and Sunday
🛏 Beavers joined us in The Hideaway for the Saturday night

Activities included:

🪓 Axe Throwing
🥏 Frisbee Golf
🪢 Shelter Building
🔥 Campfire Activities
🧗 Crate Stacking
🍕 Pizza Making

We are thrilled to announced the launch of our brand-new Squirrel Drey on Wednesday 3rd June 2026! This exciting new section is designed for 4-6 year olds, meeting weekly on Wednesdays. It’s all about fun, making friends, outdoor adventures, and earning those very first badges!

1st Norley Scout Group walked the 4 mile route round the memorials for the Norley Fallen. We did this to celebrate the 81st Anniversary of VE Day and commemorate those from our village who gave their lives during the First World War.

I’m delighted to say through both the JustGiving page and cash donations on the day the event has raised £567.90 for the Scout Group, which will help massively to support future activities, equipment and opportunities for our young people.

A huge thank you to everyone who walked, donated and supported the event.

It was a fantastic day, with the weather staying sunny for us and a wonderful way to remember those who sacrificed so much.

1st Norley Cubs were privileged to welcome ex-RAF Ian Stockton to our meeting tonight who kindly shared his experiences, artifacts and knowledge with our young members. Our Cubs were really engaged in everything he shared, and enjoyed trying on his clothing items, helmets, reading his books and looking through his photos and videos. It was a pleasure to have him and we hope he will return to Cubs and our other sections in the future!⁣
