If you need to grab a bite to eat in Clacton I have found this cafe to be friendly and serves the usual dishes at very reasonable prices……

The owner Barbara is one of Clacton’s characters and offers a warm welcome…

Not sure if there are even any tickets left-I know Sweeny Todd sold out! I’m not surprised. It was brilliant. If you haven’t tried Frinton Summer Theatre, please give it a go. It’s unique to Frinton and absolutely brilliant!

I don’t know about you, but I’m fascinated by the Frinton Park Estate. It was planned in the 30’s by architect Oliver Hill and was supposed to feature 1,100 homes and a luxury hotel. Only 40 homes were ultimately built, but it is still the largest collection of interwar modernist houses in the UK.

I love having a nose when I walk past, and so was very excited to spot that the Frinton & Walton Heritage Trust are holding a special weekend of events, included guided walks of the estate, house openings and an exhibition in the Crossing Cottage.

The event takes place on 5th and 6th September at 4pm, but you can check the details on their website here: https://www.fwheritage.co.uk/

The Heritage Trust is a fantastic organisation, run entirely by a group of amazing volunteers, who really know everything there is to know about Frinton. They have a new Museum and Heritage Centre on Pole Barn Lane and of course the lovely Crossing Cottage
Gardens and Railway Museum near the station.

Enjoying being able to eat outside during this spell of warm weather. Had amazing tapas at Different on Thursday - charred padrons, calamari, chorizo in red wine and sweet potato fries. The food here is always great. Then it was off to Frinton Summer Theatre to watch a brilliant performance of Write Me A Murder.

Lots of options for Al fresco dining in Frinton. Mangiare have tables at the front, The Hungry Bedouin - Frinton has pavement tables for people watching and a cool little patio garden at the back, Bird & Bean have pavement dining and a courtyard garden, Fifi’s, Caffe’ Gloria, Pop-Pins, Osteria del Mare and Keto Bite also offer tables outside.

Not to mention the Frinton-on-Sea Lawn Tennis Club, the Frinton Links and Frinton Cricket Club who all have outdoor dining and the The Patio regularly hold supper events.

Long may the sunshine continue. 😎☀️🌞

I do ❤️ our book shop. Obviously great for books…but there are so many other fabulous things inside. Locally made jewellery, pretty boxes of matches, beautiful journals, handmade cards, paintings by local artists and at the back you’ll find an amazing selection of quirky things for the home. There is even a cute little area set up for children to encourage young reading. A great one for a good old browse. 📙📚🤓
