💙 Our Place is on today!

Come along to West Wight Sports & Community Centre from 10:30am to 12:30pm for a warm welcome, a cuppa and the chance to connect with your local community.

Today we’ll have support from:

🔹 Community Connector
🔹 Just Ask
🔹 Connect to Work
🔹 Digital Device Support
🔹 AIM² – support for autistic and/or ADHD adults
🔹 Age UK

🌿 We’re also delighted to welcome the National Trust for a special visit. Come along to find out more about their community work, opportunities to get involved and volunteering opportunities.

💙 Could you help us make Our Place West even more welcoming?

We’re looking for a few more volunteers to join our friendly team at Our Place Tuesdays and Thursday Activities at West Wight Sports & Community Centre.

Our Place is a registered Warm Welcome Space, part of the national Warm Welcome campaign, providing a welcoming place where people can come together, meet others and access support in their local community. You can find out more about the campaign at warmwelcome.uk.

📅 Our Place Tuesdays
⏰ 10:30am–12:30pm

📅 Thursday Activities
⏰ 2:00pm–3:30pm

We’re looking for people who can help with things such as:

☕ Making drinks for attendees
👋 Meeting and greeting new people
💬 Having a chat with local residents and helping people feel welcome
🍽️ Loading and unloading the dishwasher
🥛 Helping collect milk and drinks supplies
🪑 Putting out tables and chairs before sessions and packing away afterwards

For our Thursday Activities, we’re also looking for people who can help support the activities taking place and encourage people to get involved.

You don’t need to commit every week. Many of our current volunteers give their time for one session a month, while others volunteer more or less depending on their availability. Every bit of help makes a difference.

By volunteering, you’ll be helping us create a welcoming and inclusive space for local people, while meeting members of your community and becoming part of a great team.

If you think you might be able to help, or would simply like to find out more, please get in touch with Adam:
