PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT - BATH GETS A NEW POLICE STATION!

Bath will have a new Police Station as of Wednesday 12th August! The new premises brings a public enquiry office, neighbourhood and response policing teams all together under one roof in the city centre.

Policing Area Superintendent for BANES, Supt. Ronnie Lungu said:

“Bringing our neighbourhood and response teams together in one location will help us work more closely together, share information more effectively and respond to the issues that matter most to local people.

"Just as importantly, the new enquiry office provides a welcoming space where residents, businesses and visitors can speak to us face to face. We hope the new station will become an important part of the community and demonstrates our long-term commitment to delivering outstanding policing in Bath.”

The new premises is at Bath Police Station, Monmouth Street, Bath, BA1 2EL. It replaces bases at Redbridge House, Lower Bristol Road and the One Stop Shop on Manvers St which will close on 11th August.

RECORD-BREAKING TRIUMPH FOR FRESHFORD SCOUTS!

Freshford Scout Group scored a record-breaking triumph at this year’s annual Strategy Event.

Competing against 314 patrols from across the region, Patrols from 15th Freshford achieved an outstanding result by securing both First AND Second place overall.

It is the first time in the event’s ten-year history that two Patrols from the same Troop have claimed the top two podium positions.

The Strategy Event is a challenge camp organised by Gloucester Scouts and held on the Earl of Bathurst’s Estate near Cirencester.

The competition tested a wide range of Scouting skills, including map reading, first aid, bushcraft, shooting and tarpology. Other challenges pushed the Scouts’ teamwork, stamina and problem-solving abilities through activities such as an assault course, cave bus, nail care and a supermarket sweep challenge.

At each base, Patrols had to carefully decide which team member was best suited to take on the task in to maximise their score.

The Scouts camped under canvas throughout the weekend and despite the heatwave and late nights at the disco, they thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The event provided an unforgettable adventure and showcased the skills, determination and teamwork of local Scouts.
