Today’s Earth Day theme is ‘Planet vs Plastics’. Millions of Plastic Free July participants contribute to Earth Day by doing their bit to reduce landfill waste, reduce our eco-footprint and protect the environment. By being more resourceful (and less wasteful), together we can make a real difference.

We know that when lots of people take small steps, together we can make a huge difference. This EarthDay.org we are inviting people to consider avoiding one of the Plastic Free July 2024 challenge’s top three problem plastics: Single-use Cups, Plastic Food Wrap or Plastic Drink Bottles.

Add your item in the comments section below or tag a friend you want to join you in choosing to refuse single-use plastic. By signing up to take the challenge we’ll send your ideas and stories of what others are doing every month to help inspire and support you to reduce your plastic use.

💧 Water refill stations are becoming increasingly popular in public areas such as parks, train stations, shopping centres and airports. By carrying a reusable water bottle and refilling we can not only reduce plastic waste but also save money by avoiding buying bottled water.

Note: on international flights bottles can be taken through security if they are empty and then refilled on the other side.
