🌞 It is Summer Solstice this weekend — the longest day of the year and a gentle reminder that summer is well and truly here.

A good time to get back into the garden and do a few simple jobs to help things along:

• water plants early or late in the day
• keep on top of weeding while things are growing quickly
• harvest herbs, salads or anything ready to pick
• check containers and pots as they can dry out faster in warm weather
• add mulch or compost to help the soil hold moisture

Small bits of care now make a big difference through the rest of the season.

If you are nearby, the Growing Space is always open for a quiet wander or a bit of time in the garden too.

We are currently in need of non-perishable, in-date food donations.

Items like pasta, rice, tins, cereals, and long-life basics all help us keep food support going for local people who need it.

If you are able to donate, you can drop items off in the FramFridge drop box - just go through the wooden gate and the drop box is by the front door. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference 🌿

Thank you for supporting your community 🤝

It's Loneliness Awareness Week.

Loneliness doesn't always look like loneliness.

It can be sitting in a room full of people and still feeling disconnected. It can be going days without a proper conversation. It can be the quiet moments that no one else sees.

This week is a reminder that small things matter more than we often realise — a hello, a chat over a cup of tea, a shared space where you do not have to explain anything.

If you are feeling on your own, or just want somewhere to be around others, you are always welcome at FramFridge.

Our next Open Day is Saturday 11th July 10am-1pm and we would love to share a chat and a cuppa with you. Hope to see you then!

⭐ Volunteer Spotlight ⭐️

This week we are saying thank you to Kath🌿💚

She has been helping in the growing space.

We asked why volunteering with FramFridge is important to her:

Kath found us while looking for something to get involved in locally after returning to commercial archaeology work in the area and living in work accommodation. Having volunteered for 9 years at Dig In Community Allotment in Nottingham, she knew joining a community project would give her a better work-life balance and help her feel connected locally.

She enjoys learning how different community projects are run and has found volunteering here a refreshing chance to get hands-on with practical tasks rather than directly running a session like she does back home.

We are so grateful for your time and support Kath 💚🌸💪🏽

Big matches have a way of bringing people together, but not everyone has that connection nearby.

So as the excitement of the World Cup kicks off, let’s remember to look out for those who might be sitting on their own or who do not have someone to share those everyday moments with.

Sometimes it is as simple as saying hello, checking in or inviting someone into the conversation. Social isolation is something many people experience quietly and small moments of connection can make a real difference.

Simple foods to grow to get started in gardening. Gardening does not have to be complicated or intimidating.

If you are new to growing your own food, try planting things like:
• lettuce
• radishes
• herbs
• strawberries
• potatoes

They do not need much space and are great for beginners 🌱

A little time outside, even in a small space, can make a difference — give it a try!

FramFridge runs because people show up — in the garden, on deliveries, packing food and keeping everything moving behind the scenes. Every bit of time given makes a real difference.

During Volunteers’ Week, we are especially proud to recognise and thank everyone who gives their time to support the community in Framlingham and the surrounding areas.

You are the reason this work is possible — and we are so grateful.

We are always looking for more help too, whether that is regular support or just the occasional hand where you can. Get in touch if you’d like to be involved!
