Who’s ready to get ‘Footloose’!?

The time has finally come to get our dancing shoes on and get started on our very first show!

Beginning this Wednesday, 17th June in The Sheena Fraser Studio, within The Nevis Centre.

‘Juniors’ workshops will begin from 5-6pm.

‘Seniors’ will begin from 6-8pm.

All sessions will be charged at £2pp, per rehearsal.

*All parents are reminded that during their child’s time within Showstoppers, they are required to enter and leave the building with their child, and MUST sign them in and out. Failure to do so, will result in your child being unable to attend.*

Tomorrow is our very first information evening to explore what Showstoppers Junior could look like!

We ask that all parents remain for the duration of the evening, as we have lots of important information to share about commitments, memberships, and all the other exciting details.

Please note that your child must be 10 years old before rehearsals begin. Rehearsals will likely start at the end of June or the beginning of July, with a showcase performance planned for September.

We can't wait to see you there!

🎭 Lochaber Showstoppers… Junior Edition! 🎭

Do you have a child aged 10–16 who loves theatre? Perhaps they’ve watched our productions and dreamed of being up on stage themselves! 🌟 🎶 💃

Come along to The Nevis Centre on Wednesday 10th June, from 7:00pm–8:00pm, to find out more about our exciting opportunity - Showstoppers Junior.

As attendees will be 16 and under, we kindly ask that a parent or guardian remains for the duration of the information evening.

The session will give us an opportunity to gauge interest in the group and share details about membership, expected commitment, and what being part of Showstoppers Junior could look like. 😍

Just one week ago, we opened the curtains on the magical Disney’s The Little Mermaid Musical! ✨🧜‍♀️

We’ve loved hearing all of your wonderful feedback about the show, and we couldn’t be prouder of our incredible cast and crew for bringing this production to life.

Ariel’s transformation! ✨🛁

Our bath was a huge part of this transformation, and thanks to our very own Andy Poulton, it was restored to shipshape condition ready for the stage!

I think we can all agree — it turned out absolutely fantastic!

As the show dust settles (or rather, waves 🌊), we’d like to make a special mention of our programme sponsors.

Thanks to Nevis Radio, Robyn's Nest Tearoom & Social Hub and Emergency Action Training, we were able to produce a show programme for our cast, crew and audience to keep, while also helping to raise funds for our group. 🧜‍♀️🦞

Thank you all for supporting our local group and allowing us to continue to entertain Lochaber. 🎭

We couldn’t do our show without our incredible community, and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way.

Special thanks to The Nevis Centre for our stage and equally Caol Community Centre, and MacPhee and Partners for providing rehearsal spaces. To our fantastic co-directors, Alice Campbell and Leah Burns — we simply wouldn’t be on stage without you. Your hard work and passion have been outstanding. Leah also took the reins of the choreography, and we think everyone can agree it was brilliant.

Thank you to our wonderful vocal coach, Liz Falconer, for bringing such joy to the music and harmonies, and to our amazing band for being such a fantastic addition to the show. A big thank you as well to band manager Keith Falconer for his continued support. 🎶

We’re delighted to have Hamish Bailey on board as our MD and conductor — it’s been a pleasure working with you. Thank you also to The Stage Group for their ongoing support and for helping bring the magic to life on stage… or rather, Under the Sea! 🌊 🧜‍♀️

An extra special thank you to Martin and his team The Stage Group for continuing to support theatre in Fort William. Their wealth of industry knowledge helps us bring that magic to the stage.

We’re also incredibly grateful to Magpie Makes for our fantastic hoodies and T-shirts, and to Ross Henderson for setting up our ticketing system and managing the box office — no small task!

A huge thank you as well to Anna MacDonald and Sarah Davidson for helping our team source, make, and design props. Anna did a fantastic job creating the animals for Kiss the Girl. 🦆🦩🐸
