Lochaber Housing Association The Association was set up in 1988 as a response to the chronic housing need in Lochaber’s rural communities.

Lochaber Housing Association is a Scottish Charity (SCO 30951), registered as a Society under the Co-operative and Community Benefits Act 2014 and registered with the Scottish Housing Regulator (HAL151). This housing pressure was largely due to the impact of the Right to Buy on Council housing and the difficulty of accessing owner occupation because of high property prices fueled by land costs and

second and holiday homes. These problems are just as evident today as they were in 1988, notwithstanding the good work of the Association, The Highland Council and other agencies in the intervening period. Our mission is to provide good quality, truly affordable housing opportunities and services for local people in their preferred communities, thereby identifying and meeting local needs and helping to maintain and develop thriving communities throughout Lochaber.

This Monday 1pm, the Kilchoan Post Office Grand Opening! We have two very special locals cutting the ribbon and opening up a new chapter in the village, there’ll be plenty of tea, cake and prosecco so come down and bring your post, your banking or buy yourself a stamp 🎉

Massive thanks to Richard for getting the PO to this point and becoming post master for the centre, ensuring that a vital service has come back in the quickest possible way. Huge thanks also to WACDC for everything they’ve done to get us here, some truly wonderful women behind the WACDC and we’re a very lucky community to have them driving the new shop forward. 🎉

The rubber in hot water bottles can degrade if you freeze them, making it unsafe to use with hot water later.

If you freeze a hot water bottle this summer, please don’t use it again in the colder months.

The burns from a damaged hot water bottle can cause life-changing injuries. It’s not worth the risk.

Please do not be tempted as any repairs due will be recharged to you.
