The Findhorn, Nairn and Lossie Rivers Trust is a place-based nature restoration organisation, uniquely positioned to play a key role in improving local resilience in the face of the nature and climate emergencies. We work at a catchment-scale, and in partnership with landowners and land managers, our local communities and businesses, blending sources of funding and delivering action to protect and restore our rivers, their watersheds, and the wildlife which inhabits them.

🐛 We are changing up how we use our social media channels 🦋

As the Findhorn, Nairn & Lossie Rivers Trust’s work continues to grow and evolve, we have decided to bring all of the different elements under one social media ‘roof’ 🪺

We have big plans to build on the success of the Findhorn Watershed Initiative by expanding and replicating this watershed-scale approach across each of the rivers in our care over the coming years.

🕸️ To reflect this developing convergence, we’ll be combining our pages and sharing all updates, stories and involvement opportunities from across the Findhorn, Nairn and Lossie watersheds over at (the soon to be re-named) Findhorn Watershed Initiative page.

Please head over to Findhorn Watershed Initiative to follow along. We hope you stay and join us in this journey 🏞️

This latest amendment to the Natural Environment Bill is a win for Atlantic Salmon conservation efforts and reflects the serious impact that fish crime can have on our native populations. 🎉

We welcome the recent news that an amendment to the Natural Environment (Scotland) Bill to enable stronger penalties to be applied to serious fish crime has passed through Parliament. This change sees the maximum fine for summary convictions for fish poaching increase to £10,000.

💬 You might have noticed it's been a little quiet around here...

That’s not because we’ve been short on exciting work — quite the opposite. We’ve been missing a vital member of the team to help us tell the story.

📣 The Findhorn, Nairn & Lossie Rivers Trust is recruiting for a Communications and Engagement Lead. We're looking for someone special to help bring our work to life – delivering compelling storytelling and meaningful engagement opportunities that foster nature connection and belonging, support river stewardship, and mobilise communities, partners and funders to play their part in restoring resilient landscapes across our catchments.

✅ The role is full time (35 hours per week) with a starting salary of £35,000-£40,000 (dependent on experience) and based out of our offices in the beautiful setting of Logie Steading.

➡️ Find out more and apply here: https://www.fnlrt.org.uk/vacancy-communications-engagement-lead/

💌 This is a unique place-based role and opportunity to help shape the story and impact of a growing organisation at an important moment in its evolution. If there's someone you know of based in or near to the Findhorn, Nairn or Lossie catchment areas who might be a good fit – please do send the details their way.
