It was a treat to meet Fay and her lovely daughter Emma the other day as they paid an emotional visit to Leanchoil. Emma was one of the last babies born at Leanchoil, and we were so pleased Fay got in touch with us to tell her story with her daughter.

A gentle reminder of our open event at Forres Town Hall, the home of Forres Area Community Trust tomorrow (Thursday 3rd) at 3pm till 5. We've got lots to show you, including some fabulous new plans of the proposed interior layout of Leanchoil. These are proposals, because we need your feedback on them before we proceed. Do come along, have a chat with our trustees and have your questions answered.
In addition, our volunteer coordinator Michelle will be on hand to provide any info you need on the forthcoming volunteering events - all very exciting!

A date for your diary!
Next Thursday September 3rd the Leanchoil Trust are having a drop-in information event at Forres Town Hall. It was great last year to share the updates with those that came along, but lots of progress made in the Leanchoil restoration and repurposing project since then.
We’ll be there from 3pm until the Trust’s Annual General Meeting at 5pm. Both events are open to the public so do pop in, ask any questions of our trustees and get the latest news on the project.
Don't forget, if you are a member of the Trust you can vote on any motions during the AGM.

A very touching reminder of how enmeshed Leanchoil is in our community when Euan, his sister Julia and his mother Dorreen, 89 years old and ready to go, turned out today to help with the clean up. Dorreen gave birth the both siblings at Leanchoil, and the family are delighted with our plans to restore it to a new purpose for the community.

What an amazing day with our lovely volunteers! Lots done, many items saved for auction at a later date (watch this space!), and even the weather came out in support! More opportunities to help as volunteers in the near future, so keep an eye on the page.
Pictures show all our volunteers on a short break from the dusty work, including three spirited lads from 39 Regiment in Kinloss.
Our chair, Marianne Nicolson, is showing her caring side by transporting volunteer Adam towards the skip on an orthopedic bed! Many thanks to all those that turned out, and to the local businesses that supported our efforts with provisions.
