A big thank you to Murton Farm, Tearoom and Nature Reserve for hosting the Tannadice Explorer Unit this week.

Our Explorers had a great time making leather keyrings and woggles, we also enjoyed some marshmallows. It was a brilliant evening and we really appreciate the opportunity to visit!

Exciting news for Tannadice and the surrounding area! 🐿️

The 22nd Angus (Tannadice) Scout Group is exploring the possibility of starting a brand new Squirrel Drey – the youngest section in Scouts for boys and girls aged 4–6.

Before we make any plans, we’d love to find out if there’s enough interest locally to make it happen.

❄️ Winter Olympics Night ❄️

Last Night our Scouts held their own version of the Winter Olympics at Memus.
They took part in hockey matches, a ski relay, curling, skeleton, bobsleigh and a speed skating race — all adapted for indoors!

It was great to see teamwork, encouragement and plenty of effort from everyone involved.
Well done to all the Scouts for getting stuck in and giving it their best. 🥌🏒

🎄 Merry Christmas from 22nd Angus (Tannadice) Scout Group 🎄

As we come to the end of another incredible year, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported our Scout Group throughout 2025
Thank you to all the parents, families, friends, local supporters and organisations who have helped us through fundraisers, tent hires and work days. Every bit of support — whether big or small — makes a massive difference and helps us continue to provide great opportunities for our young people.

A very special thank you goes to our leaders, young leaders, trustees and operations team. You have given countless hours of your time, completely voluntarily, to help grow the group, support our young people and deliver fun, safe and exciting experiences — while also teaching vital skills for life. Your commitment and passion do not go unnoticed.

✨ Some highlights from an amazing year include:
• Beavers Camp and the magical Polar Express outing
• Cubs and Explorers trip to Disneyland Paris
• Cubs camps at Dalguise and Ladenford
• Scouts camps at Tannadice, Strathallan and Edinburgh
• Explorers camps in Edinburgh and Almost Haunted
• Lots of fantastic outings across all sections
• Presentation of top awards
• And returning to our refurbished Scout Hall in February, after being out of it since November 2023 — a huge milestone for the group.

None of this would be possible without the amazing community around us. Thank you for being part of our journey and for helping us make Scouting at Tannadice what it is.

🎉 Huge congratulations to David McSheffrey! 🎉

Last night, David received the Chief Scout’s Commendation for Good Service Award — a very well-deserved recognition for all the incredible time, energy, and heart he puts into Tannadice Cub Pack, as well as his involvement right across the group.

From camps and fundraisers to work days and everything in between, David is always there, quietly getting on with things and making a massive difference for our young people.

We are incredibly grateful for everything you do, David — and very proud to see your dedication recognised. Well done and thank you for your outstanding service! 👏🏕️💛

🎃👻 Spooky Fun at Tannadice Scouts, Cubs & Beavers Halloween Parties! 👻🎃

What an amazing week of Halloween fun across our sections! 🕸️🕷️

Our Beavers & Cubs came along in fantastic costumes — from witches to skeletons to superheroes — and had a brilliant night playing lots of spooky games, laughing, and showing off their scary dance moves! 🧛‍♀️🦸‍♂️

Meanwhile, our Scouts got up to some seriously creepy chaos! They played loads of Halloween games before taking on Shot Roulette — featuring delightful options like tomato juice and prune juice 😝. They then transformed into zombies and vampires, faced a blindfold taste test where they picked between 1 or 2 (would it be nice... or absolutely disgusting? 😬), and finished off with an epic finale:

🍎 Dooking for apples
🍩 Donuts on a string
😜 Maltesers in syrup (no hands allowed!)
💨 Wine gums buried in flour

It was messy, hilarious, and full of laughter — just how Halloween should be! 🎉

Huge thanks to all our leaders and young people for making it such a fang-tastic night! 🦇🎃

🌟 Congratulations to David Whitton! 🌟

We’re proud to share that David has been awarded the Award for Merit, recognising his outstanding service to Scouting across Tannadice, North Angus and beyond.

A Tannadice Scout turned leader, David began volunteering in 2010 and has since become the driving force behind our Group — leading the Scouts, supporting new volunteers, and inspiring young people every step of the way.

From international trips and district projects to guiding the recovery of our hall after the 2023 floods, David continues to give his all to Scouting and our community.

Thank you, David, for your incredible leadership, kindness, and dedication — your impact will be felt for many years to come. 💚🏕️
