Do you want to do something different outside of School then why not Join Folkestone & Hythe Sea Cadets or Folkestone & Hythe Royal Marines Cadets.

We parade two evenings a week and will complete training of a nautical theme to assist with learning valuable life skills that will stay with you for the future.

If your interested in joining for our recruitment evening on Thursday 3rd September at 7:15pm then please contact the Unit via [email protected] to register your interest to attend the evening.

We are also looking for Adult Volunteers 18+ to assist with the delivery of training to our Cadets. If you have a spare bit of time and would like to give something back to the local community then please also get in touch.

Don’t forget that on Monday 13th July the Detachment will be boating in Dover. Arrive at the unit at the earlier time of 6:30pm in boating clothes making sure also you have a water bottle for fluids whilst boating. Make sure you have spare clothes in case you get wet.

The Port of Dover has received notification today, of a sewage outfall incident that took place on Tuesday 23rd June.

Following completion of our standard routine weekly water quality testing, elevated microbiological results have been identified at a number of seafront and marina sampling locations.

The results indicate that sufficient bathing water quality levels have been breached in several areas. As a precautionary safety measure, swimming and direct water contact are not currently permitted in the affected areas.

Seafront signage is being placed in visible locations to inform the public.

Daily water quality testing will now be carried out until the results confirm that water quality has returned to within sufficient bathing water quality levels.

The position will be reviewed daily as new results become available.

Monday 1st June

Rig of the day is RNPCS / MTP for Sea cadets and Royal Marines cadets apart from the two Sea Cadets who should be attending in sports kit with swim wear for Water Safety Test.

Junior Sea Cadets are to be in sports kit with swim wear as you will be doing water safety test.

All cadets to start at normal time of 7:10pm

It may be the School half term holiday but it’s no holiday for us.

Following the unit being closed for Bank Holiday Monday we are back open for training this evening.

A reminder we only close for Bank Holidays and two weeks over Christmas.

Folkestone and Hythe Sea and Royal Marines cadets would like to extend our sincere thanks to Hythe Town Council for giving us the opportunity to run the Car Boot Fair on Sunday 24th May. The event enabled us to raise some much-needed funds in support of our unit and cadets, and we are extremely grateful for their continued support.

Our thanks also go to all of the vendors and members of the public who attended throughout the day. We hope everyone enjoyed the event, found some bargains, and that everything met their expectations.

Your support is genuinely appreciated and helps us continue providing opportunities and experiences for our cadets. We look forward to seeing you all again at future events.
