Folkestone is a special town, with lots of wonderful people, including everyone who runs Music in May at Folkestone Music Town. This month-long, town-wide festival is a celebration of the talent, wonderful community and bold ambition of this town.

Come down to The Mariner on the old harbour, tomorrow Tuesday the 19th of May from 7-9pm to help us celebrate being part of Music in May for the 2nd time, on our first birthday.🎂

Medieval parties, were grand, theatrical, and highly structured feasts used to display wealth, power, and status. Held in Great Halls, they featured elaborate entertainment, hours-long courses, often lasting late into the night.

Maybe we won’t quite be partying like it’s 1399 but there will be cake!

🌟 If you are up for “something new and invigorating!” come down to Sing Folk this upcoming Tuesday 24th March. This month we invite songs written about or by women (or anything else) especially if there is a refrain we can all join in on! Listeners also welcome as always.

Coming up fast is our Folk Song Day this Tuesday 17th Feb. supported by the Folkestone Songwriting festival.

Anna Braithwaite and Lorraine Lucas will be leading a short songwriting workshop for all ages, followed by a companion workshop where you’ll learn the newly written song/s ready for an informal group performance that very same evening at Sing Folk.

Come for a while, or stay all day!
