WE BROUGHT THE RAINBOW TODAY! 🌈

The turbulent weather didn’t stop 24 fabulous volunteers joining us for our Touchbase Care x Folkestone Wombles community litter pick! 💚

🚮 Nearly 15 full bags of litter collected around the Harbour in just an hour and a half – we really gave it our all!

Bringing together the Wombles and members of Touchbase to give our time to look after the streets we all share was a real privilege. A little wind and rain wasn’t going to stop us! 🌧️

It’s a lovely reminder that community action is for everyone, and that when we come together, we can make a real difference.

🫶 A huge thank you to everyone who came along and earned their very well-deserved Womble badge! And an extra special thank you to the incredible Touchbase Care staff for all their support on the day, and for the amazing work they do every single day to help their community members flourish 🌱

Please come along visit the service, say hello and meet the members. You may even encounter a surprise Womble there too! 👋

When communities come together, we’re all a lot more stronger for it 💗

🍃 It’s about getting outside, making connections, building confidence and celebrating different people and abilities.

We believe everyone has something to offer, and that doing good together can bring us closer. Learning new skills with one hand and doing good deeds with the other! 🤝

🚮 Come be part of our community! Folkestone Wombles and Touchbase Care are teaming up for a special community litter pick on Friday 16th October.

Everyone is welcome to come make a difference, and we’d love to see you there! 💚

THIS IS WHAT 40 LITTER PICKS LOOK LIKE 😍

🚮 A HUGE thank you to the 300+ volunteers who’ve joined us on our wombling adventures over nearly TWO YEARS. We still can’t quite believe how far we’ve come! 💚

We’ve collected thousands of pieces of litter, made some wonderful friends along the way, and shown that when a community comes together, we really can make a difference.

Here’s to more litter picks, more friendly faces and continuing to grow this wonderful Folkestone Wombles community.

We’ve got the last Sunday of every month pencilled in for the rest of the year (with a few surprises along the way! 👀), so if you fancy joining us for a litter-picking adventure, you know where to find us! 👋

We’re only just getting started! 🥹

Every Womble is welcome! 🤗

💞 We’re teaming up with our friends at Touchbase for a community litter pick, and we’d love for you to join us!

Touchbase Care is an inclusive community where adults with disabilities and neurodivergence can connect, grow and truly flourish.

Together, we’ll be getting outdoors, caring for our local area and showing how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in Folkestone 🌱

📅 Friday 16th October
⏰ 10:30am-12pm
📍 Touchbase Care, Tontine Street, Folkestone (CT20 1JT)

Anyone can join, and we’ll provide all the litter-picking equipment you need! 🚮

💚 Come along, meet your neighbours and help us make our streets a cleaner, kinder and more inclusive place to live.

Enabling people, creating choice and keeping our town tidy too! 💖

Community is about more than the places we share – it’s about creating spaces where everyone feels they belong.

That’s something we Folkestone Wombles have in common with Touchbase Care. A space we love where adults with disabilities and neurodiversity can build confidence, make friendships, learn new skills and truly flourish 🌱

🚮 It’s why we’re excited to be joining our volunteers and theirs for a good old morning litter pick on Friday 16th October!

Chief Womble Thomas popped in to meet some of the Touchbase members and staff to hear about what they get up to and find out what this amazing space means to them 👋

Looking after our community is something everyone can be part of. There’s always something pretty special about bringing all types of people together to make one BIG positive difference.

More details will be shared about our collab event soon! So, watch this space! There may even be a Womble-sized surprise for those who do come along 🐭🧵

How else do you spend a birthday? Picking litter, of course! 🎂

Thank you to everyone who came wombling along to celebrate Thomas Womble’s big day – and helped collect litter during a stroll to Sandgate 🧤

We even welcomed three new volunteers to the Wombles! 🥳

Running this group has been such a pleasure, so what better birthday gift could we ask for than spending the day doing what we love, with some brilliant people? 💚

Here’s to many more Wombling adventures! 🥂

Orinoco wanted to send his birthday well wishes to our Folkestone Womble, Thomas! 🎂🎈

“He’s often told me while we’re picking litter just how much being part of this group has meant to him.

“Finding others who love their community and want to do their bit to tidy up, while building new friendships, is incredibly special to him.

“I imagine he’ll want to thank every volunteer who makes Folkestone Wombles what it is, and encourage everyone to enjoy a slice of cake on him – including me!” 🍰
