It looks like it will be hot on the Leas by the Bandstand this weekend and there could be quite a crowd. Our chairs tend to be taken up quite quickly on these occasions so we encourage you to bring your own. There will be some portaloos in case the Leas Cliff hall toilets are out of action again, so hopefully this will help.

Sipsister Mobile Bar will be on site again both days, and the German Sausage/Burger Man and Ice cream van. What a weekend coming up - the Carribean steel band sounds on Saturday followed by Abba Bjorn this Way on Sunday both from 2.30 to 4.30pm.

THE PANTASY STEEL BAND
FOLKESTONE BANDSTAND – SATURDAY 20TH JUNE 2026 2.30 to 4.30pm

The Pantasy Steel Band (or Steel Drum Band) is one of The UK's finest Steel Bands. Their UK steel band music is a good mix of some traditional Caribbean Music which is very laid back and works well as background music, through to more upbeat repertoire which is often more recognisable and includes steel pan arrangements of well known songs by artists such as Bob Marley and UB40. Here is an example set list of the tunes they play.
Summer Time Hot, Hot, Hot The Lion Sleeps Tonight
Three Little Birds Stand by me Groovy Kind of Love
Egyptian Reggae Kingston Town True Love from High Society
Island in the Sun Stir it up Under the Sea
One Love Rivers of Babylon No Woman No Cry
Brown Girl in the Ring La Bamba I just called to say I love you
I Got you Babe (UB40) Light my Fire (UB40) Dont break my heart (UB40)
Red red Wine (UB40) Falling in Love (UB40) True Love, from High Society
You can get if you really want By the Riverside When the saints go marching in
Most Bob Marley songs
Folkestone Festivals provides the bandstand programme on behalf of Folkestone & Hythe District Council with support from Folkestone Town Council. Thanks to wonderful support we receive from Folkestone Town Councillors, we are able to raise further monies to provide a very full programme from May 30th to September 19th on the beautiful relaxing Leas - family friendly fun and free to enjoy by all. We hope you enjoy the afternoon, are well looked after by our brilliant Team of Helpers and that you will support us through your kind donation. Our programme depends on additional support from businesses and our own fundraising.
