We’re proud to support Flitwick Community Fridge 💚
If you’re shopping at Waitrose Ampthill, please consider giving them your green token.

Please support us with your green token at Waitrose Ampthill 💚

We’re currently supporting over 200 local families each week across Flitwick, Ampthill and the surrounding villages who are on a low income.

Through the Waitrose Community Matters scheme, we could receive a grant of £500, £1,000 or £1,500 depending on the number of votes.

This funding will help us continue providing essential items like meat, fish and eggs each week to the families who need it most.

If you’re shopping in Waitrose, please drop your token into our box. It really will make a difference.

Thank you to Ampthill Business Connect for the donation to our Community Fund, which supports a range of groups and causes in Flitwick that help to bring our community together! ❤️

We just want to say thank you again to the businesses & visitors at our recent Expo as we managed to raise £600 for charity!

The charities this will be given to, are Ampthill vs Cancer 5K (our charity of 2026) and the Flitwick Town Mayor’s Charity Community Fund.

As you know, Ampthill Business Connect is a not for profit organisation, so the money we make from events like this, go straight back into the local charities and communities.

Than you again to The Rufus Centre Flitwick and to you for your support. We look forward to seeing you again soon at another ABC event.

A big thank you to the Flitwick Town Mayor’s Charity CIO for awarding Flitwick Community Fridge a grant of £2,340 💚

This funding will cover our membership of the SOFEA Community Larder scheme for the next year, giving us access to surplus food directly from across the UK supply chain. SOFEA works with food producers and distributors to rescue good-quality surplus food and redistribute it to community projects like ours, helping reduce waste and support local households.

This financial support will help us keep the fridge well stocked and there for everyone who needs it.

🎄⭐ Today is the day!
Join us in Flitwick Town Square from 3pm for an afternoon of Christmas magic.

Flitwick Town Mayor’s Charity will be serving mulled wine, mince pies, and running a festive tombola to raise money for Citizens Advice Mid Bedfordshire and our Community Fund. Thanks to your support, we have already distributed £8,500 to brilliant local groups this year, and today’s fundraising will help us do even more.

🎄 At 5pm, Reggie Tyne from Kingsmoor Lower School will switch on the Christmas lights. Reggie missed out last year when the weather forced us to cancel, so we are delighted he will finally get to press the magic button.

🎶 Right after the switch on, gather round the tree for carols with Ampthill Town Band.

See you later in the Town Square.
Let’s start Christmas together.

We are proud to continue our support for Flitwick Community Fridge! Thank you to everyone who donated to this fundraising project and to the grants from the Wixamtree Trust and the CBC Ward Councillor scheme. ❤️

🚨 Fundraising Success - Flitwick Community Fridge Acquires an Electric Van

🎉After six months of fundraising, Flitwick Town Mayor’s Charity has funded the purchase of an electric van for Flitwick Community Fridge, which was delivered earlier this month.

🙏 We thank the Wixamtree Trust for a £5,000 grant, Cllr Heather Townsend for a £500 Central Bedfordshire Council ward councillor grant, and local businesses and residents for their donations, totalling £18,000.

📢 Our first exciting new service will be a trial weekly pop-up food stall at Kingsmoor Lower School on Wednesday afternoons from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM. The service will begin on Wednesday, 4th June, offering families with children attending Kingsmoor a selection of free fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, and other ambient food items.

✉️ The school will send more information directly to families later this month. This service is only accessible to families with children attending Kingsmoor.

❤️ Our team is passionate about saving good food from waste and firmly believes that everyone in our community should have access to nutritious food. We are incredibly grateful to our 40+ volunteers, the officers at Flitwick Town Council, and our charity partners, especially colleagues at Tesco Flitwick, who work together to make this a reality!
