Volunteer Spotlight 🌟

It's Volunteer Week, and we're shining a light on our wonderful volunteers and the amazing work they do in our community. This is Carol, who volunteers at the Community Fridge in Refurbs Flint.

"I keep coming back because I know what I am doing is making a difference, my input is valued by the amazing team I work with and our fabulous customers.

We are helping to improve diet, budgeting and educating customers about food waste as well as preventing perfectly good food going to landfill."

Community Fridge Days 📣

💚 Wednesdays 11:30am - 1:30pm at Hafan Deg Community Centre
💚 Thursdays 12:30pm - 2:30pm at Refurbs Flint

Please do not arrive any earlier than 15 minutes at our community fridges. You can fill a carrier bag with any items from the fridge, which can include dairy, grocery, bakery, meat and more.

Can you support our Community Fridge?

Your support will help us to bring benefits for both people and the planet. Rotting food waste is a major producer of greenhouse gases, and our project will make sure lots of good quality food reaches people's plates, rather than going to landfill.

While the main purpose of a community fridge is to prevent waste, many of our users are in hardship and rely on the food to keep themselves and their families well-fed.

Over the course of a year, your support will help to achieve:
- Over 8 tonnes of good food prevented from going to waste.
- Over 23 tonnes of equivalent carbon savings as a result of food not going to waste.
- Over 300 households have access to affordable, nutritious food!
