At the beginning of April RSPCA Fylde Branch under charity number 232246 changed its legal status and became a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO). We became RSPCA Fylde Branch CIO under charity number to 1216074.
The reason for us doing this was twofold. Firstly it provided a reduced risk of personal liability for the Trustees (who are unpaid volunteers) enabling us to expand the Trustee Board.
Secondly it makes it easier for us to administer our operations and work under a new partnership agreement with the National Society.
Nothing else has changed.
We continue to remain committed to improving animal welfare in the area we cover and provide advice and assistance where possible; unfortunately the amount we can do is limited by our resource capacity.
Our operations are dependent on the number of volunteers we have and the funds we raise.
Our volunteers are fantastic and generous with their time and we are truly appreciative of their efforts.
