A323 Fleet Road: overnight closures from 13 October

Overnight resurfacing on the A323 between Fleet and Hartley Wintney is expected to begin on Tuesday 13 October.

The affected stretch is just north of the turn for The Elvetham hotel, north of Pale Lane. Closures are planned from 8pm to 6am, with the road open outside those hours. Access to the hotel and nearby properties will be maintained from the Fleet side.

Councillor Steve Forster advises that the work is expected to take six nights. The permit runs until 24 October to allow for changes to the schedule, so check the roadside warning signs and live roadworks record before travelling.

Please allow extra time and follow the signed diversion.

Could your local group help make our community safer?

A deadline to flag for Fleet charities and community organisations: applications to the Safer Communities Fund close at 3pm on Friday 16 October 2026.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police and Crime Commissioner has made £1 million available across the area for projects that reduce crime and anti-social behaviour. Priorities include tackling serious violence, reducing abuse and exploitation of women and girls, and reducing offending and reoffending.

Your organisation must first apply to and be accepted into the Funding Network before submitting a grant application. Check the eligibility guidance now if you’re considering a bid. Funding for successful projects starts on 1 April 2027.
