Shout: Flamborough RNLI launched on service yesterday at 3:56pm at the request of HM Coastguard, following a report of a casualty with a serious leg injury at Thornwick bay. Lifeboat with volunteer crew was on scene at 3:56pm where they liaised with Coastguard personnel and transferred the casualty onto the lifeboat. The lifeboat and volunteer crew returned to South Landing at 4:40pm where the casualty was handed to the care of a waiting ambulance.

Lifeboat crew and shore crew then cleaned and re fuelled the lifeboat and launching tractor in preparation for the next shout.

An excellent multi-agency exercise took place yesterday involving Flamborough RNLI, Bridlington RNLI, and HM Coastguard Bridlington.

The exercise featured realistic emergency scenarios with live casualty role players, providing valuable training and strengthening coordination between all teams involved.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and helped make the exercise such a success.

Ever thought about volunteering with the RNLI ?

As part of Volunteers’ Week, you are invited to an online event about what it’s really like to volunteer with the RNLI, in the North and East Region, from operational roles through to fundraising, water safety, shop volunteering, and more.

The event is taking place on Wednesday 3rd June at 6pm

It’s an opportunity to:
⚓ Hear directly from current volunteers
⚓ Ask questions in an informal setting
⚓ Find out about the wide range of opportunities available
⚓ Learn how you could make a difference in your community

You don’t need previous experience, maritime knowledge, or lots of spare time, there are many different ways to get involved and support saving lives at sea.

If you, a friend, colleague, or family member might be interested, we’d love to see you there.

Current volunteers are also welcome to join and bring a friend!
