At 15:59hrs on Friday 28th August 2026, MIRO crew were paged by Aberdeen Coastguard following a report that a yacht was in difficulty near to Lossiemouth.
Crew attended, and at 16:18hrs MIRO Rescue was launched and made best speed towards Lossiemouth into a large NE swell with the sea conditions moderate to rough.
The casualty vessel was traced approximately 1/2 mile north of Lossiemouth harbour and after establishing that all onboard were safe and well, the decision was made to transfer a MIRO crew member onto the casualty vessel to navigate it into Lossiemouth Harbour.
The yacht was eventually secured within the harbour and MIRO Rescue was stood down at 18:00hrs.
