After delivering 17 Ecovillage trainings throughout Moray, to community groups, organisations, community councils and charities, we received 9 applications to become Showcase Ecovillages that we would take on for a full years support and mentorship to help them achieve their sustainability goals. It was a very tough decision but we could only support 3 for the mentorship programme! We were delighted to announce that the 3 chosen applicants were REAP Keith, Cullen Connected and the Speyside Communicty Council (with their current project based in Rothes)! Moray Ecovillage Development Project presented at Join the Dots tsiMORAY event!

Around 130 people gathered in Elgin on Wednesday 20th March for the sixth annual ‘Join the Dots’ event; celebrating the vital role of the third sector, social enterprise and partnership working in Moray.

The Join the Dots 2019 conference saw the NHS, local councillors, community groups, social enterprises and charities come together at the Mansefield Hotel to offer networking, valuable discussion centred around the theme ‘whatever the question, community is the answer’.

The audience also heard keynote speeches from Kosha Joubert of the Global Ecovillage Network and Alice Thompson of Social Bite, who gave insights into how community can provide solutions to local challenges.
The event was organised by tsiMORAY (the third sector interface for Moray), a local charity offering support to community groups, charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises.

The Moray Ecovillage Development Project had it's début presentation to the public as it is now open for communities and community organisations in Moray to apply and have their first meeting with the GEN and tsiMORAY team to further develop their community's project in a bid to create more sustainable and resilient communities in Moray and for Scotland. Email us today to find out more and to apply.
