Today we’ve been on a bit of a road trip! 🚐

Our team visited Harrogate Homeless Project - HHP and Sleepsafe Selby to see how other organisations in other towns are delivering emergency accommodation for people experiencing homelessness. It was a great opportunity to learn, share ideas, and see some fantastic work being done to support people in crisis.

We’re always looking at ways we can improve the support we offer in our own community, and visits like this help us gather inspiration and practical ideas that could make a real difference.

A big thank you to the teams at both projects for taking the time to show us around and talk about the incredible work they do. 👏

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Dave, the newest volunteer at the Rainbow Centre in Filey! 👏

Dave’s a proud Filey lad and has already hit the ground running, helping out at our food bank and supporting local people who need us most.

Right now, Dave is putting out a call for help. We’re running low on tinned vegetables and tinned tuna, and these items are always in high demand for our food parcels.

If you’re able to donate a few tins during your next shop, it would make a real difference to families here in Filey. Every single item helps 💛

Donations can be dropped off at the Rainbow Centre in Filey Tuesdays and Fridays each week between 10am - 1pm.

We’ve added something new at The Rainbow Centre Filey 💙

Our “Help Yourself Shelf” has now been expanded with a clothes rail full of coats for men, women and children — free for anyone who needs one.

Alongside the coats, the shelf is stocked with hygiene products for men and women, books, hats, gloves and other essentials. No referrals, no questions — just help yourself.

As the colder weather continues, we hope this helps keep a few more people warm and supported 💛
