Thank you to the lovely ladies in the Ukuladies band for entertaining us so beautifully last Wednesday. We had a great time joining in with their songs and reminiscing on our mis-spent youth.

Sorry ladies for such a late update but our next meeting is on Wednesday 6 May and our entertainment will be a Ukulele band, hope it's great fun!

Irene, Viv & Enid will be providing the refreshments and Lynda & Lesley will organise the registration and raffle ( don't worry we'll explain what to do).

Craft is on Friday 29 May and because it's the school holidays if you would like to bring along any young family members they will be most welcome.

Kay is arranging our lunch club this month, probably the Greenfield, and will collect your deposits and give more details at the meeting.

Hope you all enjoy the show this afternoon at the Sherman Theatre ..... see you soon.

Last night Alun Clement gave our ladies an excellent presentation on the origins of the industrial and everyday life in our communities of Ferndale and Blaenllechau from before the start of coal mining until the first World War. He was assisted by his brother Gerwyn and many wonderful photos.

We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and Alun asked us to donate our payment of £50 to the Ferndale Junior Rugby Club.

We hope they will return in the future to continue their story.

Our craft ladies had a wonderful afternoon decorating their own mugs thanks to Crockenwaith RCT.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday 1 April and Alun Clement has kindly agreed to talk to us about the history of Ferndale and the Rhondda, a subject of which he is very knowledgeable. I am very much looking forward to this and I am sure you will find it really interesting.

Elaine E & Gena will be providing the refreshments while Bev & I will organise the registration and raffle.

Our annual subs of £30 are due this month, if you have not already paid these could you please pay either by bank transfer or in cash on the night.

Our craft club this month is on Friday 27 March at 1.30pm and Lorraine has arranged for us to paint pottery mugs. Next month's craft is on Friday 24 April.

Kay will be arranging our lunch club this month, more details on Wednesday.

We would really like your suggestions on both our Summer trip in August and (I know it's a long way off) our Christmas night out.
Both events need to be arranged as soon as possible.

Look forward to seeing you all then.
