This term we’re focusing on creating works inspired by stimulus and what better inspiration than our own surroundings.

We journeyed up Penrhys mountain to capture images and collect small pieces of nature to begin thinking about new ideas.

After our walk the young people began creating pictures from the things they collected.

In Penrhys, community spirit, support and creativity are thriving. In this film, led and made by our Above & beyond team in collaboration with the community features three generations of Penrhys residents move together, and share skills and stories.

Penrhys village in the South Wales valleys have been working with local artists for the last six years through a project called Above & Beyond which aims to infuse the community with tools for creativity.

Lead Artists Kyle Stead and Sandra Harnisch-Lacey teach weekly movement, arts and production classes for all ages. This film was co-created with the residents and their family members who came together to share their new skills and use their artistic vision to share the heart and soul of Penrhys with the world.

Cafodd y ffilm hon ei chyd-greu gyda’r trigolion ac aelodau o'u teuluoedd a ddaeth ynghyd i rannu eu sgiliau newydd a defnyddio eu gweledigaeth artistig i rannu calon ac enaid Penrhys gyda’r byd.
