Forthcoming community events

Between now and Christmas we have an increasing number of events which you are welcome to come to and enjoy.

1. On Saturday, 8th of October we are holding our 1st combined coffee morning and Dunkirk Diners lunch. One of our long-term aims has been to introduce a dining club for anyone who wishes to attend, the aim being to provide a well-prepared wholesome light meal in convivial surroundings.
In order to accommodate both a coffee morning and a lunchtime meal we are changing the start time of the coffee morning to 11am and expect to serve the meals at 12:30pm.
On the menu for this 1st luncheon will be soup followed by baked potatoes with a variety of fillings.

2. On Saturday 22nd of October we are having a Halloween quiz with refreshments. We hope you can attend this 1st quiz in the new hall which starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are available from the Dunkirk farm shop or from Maytree nurseries telephone number (01227) 750353.

3. On Saturday 26th of November we are holding our 1st Christmas fair in the new village hall and we really need your support to make it as successful as the previous Christmas fairs held in the barn behind the Dunkirk farm shop.
The fair will commence at 11am and there will be a variety of stalls available in both the main and small hall, supported by freshly prepared rolls and drinks prepared in the new kitchen.
If you require a table to sell your goods at the fair please contact Mike Blundy on (01227) 752596 or e-mail [email protected], tables are £15 each and we expect to be able to fit in at least 20 to 25 tables in the 2 halls. A good number have already been sold so please do not delay in making your request known to Mike.

4. On Saturday 10th December we are changing the coffee morning to a Christmas tea in the afternoon starting at 2:30pm, when we will be entertained by Friends in Harmony, the singing group who performed at the opening of the new hall and who proved very popular with those who attended the opening. Later in the afternoon we will be serving mulled wine, tea and coffee, scones and mince pies. Anybody is welcome to turn up and enjoy the festivities with us.

5. On Tuesday, 20th of December the choir from Boughton church will be carol singing between 6pm and 7pm, everyone is welcome to come and join in and afterwards mince pies and drinks will be served for all those attending.
