A reminder that tomorrow is the deadline for applying for an education grant for young people in Strathnairn from our community development fund. Everyone under the age 25 in education, training or an apprenticeship can apply subject to the conditions: Education Grants | SCBF https://share.google/2CgqUENl8GsbguGBu. Congratulations to local crofter, Beth Rose, on being elected onto the Crofting Federation Board.

We are pleased to welcome several new faces onto our Council this year, alongside the return of Annie-Theresa MacDonald to the Board.

Our Board and Council play a vital role in representing crofters and helping guide the work of the SCF across a wide range of issues affecting crofting communities throughout the Highlands and Islands.

We are grateful to everyone who gives up their time, knowledge and experience to support the organisation and ensure crofters continue to have a strong collective voice.

Did you know you can put bagged dog mess in any outdoor public litter bin?

Keep bags with your dog's lead to avoid forgetting them, and consider carrying extras for others who may have left theirs at home.

Leaving dog poo lying around – even when flicked away from paths or on agricultural land – can spread harmful bacteria and parasites, posing risks to humans, livestock, and wildlife.

Burying it might seem like a good plan in more rural areas, but it can still contaminate soil and groundwater and could get dug up by other animals.

It is best for animals and people alike if you pick up your dog's poo and bin it – or take it home with you when bins aren’t available – wherever you are in Scotland’s great outdoors.
