We had Dekalb White hens this weekend, kind of a commercial leghorn. Quite petite birds but lay lovely big white eggs and these ladies seem to have particularly golden orange yolks.
They were technically free range but look to have spent most of their time in the barn, give them a few weeks and they feather up and look fabulous. I look forward to seeing the 4 I rehomed settle in and recover.

Today's hens have arrived, pic to follow. Few are a bit threadbare but we'll in themselves and will soon grow their feathers back.
