Commencing May 2027; the 56th Hessen Elite Tournament will be held in the German town of Oberursel.

Recruitment is starting for players born between 2014 and 2015 to represent the Aldershot & Farnborough district (Rushmoor)

As part of Rushmoor International Association (RIA), the representative football team will compete for the 35th year against teams from France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, South Korea as well as numerous academy teams and pro academies from Germany.

Previous winners include the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Mönchengladbach & FC Kaiserslautern to name a few.

This is an unbelievable opportunity for top young footballers to test themselves against top level opposition and to create unforgettable memories in a once in a lifetime experience.

Trials for all positions (9v9 format) will be held in September 2026.

Our Chairman, Andrew Lloyd, joined the Mayor, Cllr Peter Cullum, in welcoming the D1 team from SC Eintracht Oberursel to Rushmoor today 😀⚽️

The team is visiting Farnborough to compete in tomorrow’s tournament after Team Rushmoor visited Oberursel, and the teams will be playing for a trophy Oberursel won last year’s tournament. 🏆

It’s fantastic to see our international friendships and community links strengthened through sport. We wish all the teams the very best of luck for the tournament!

We had a really positive meeting this evening with our counterparts in Dayton, Ohio, learning more about what brings our communities closer together including our aviation links, and discussing exciting future plans, including youth exchanges and projects focused on sport and culture.

Last October, a small group from Rushmoor enjoyed a fantastic visit to Meudon 🇫🇷, where they were warmly welcomed by the Breaktime team.

From joining in the lively Fête de Rabelais to trying their hand at grape harvesting 🍇, and exploring the beautiful town of Meudon, it was a trip full of great experiences, friendship, and plenty of memorable moments. Of course, there was also some wonderful food and hospitality along the way!

Trips like this are what Rushmoor International Association is all about—bringing people together, sharing cultures, and making lasting friendships across borders.

Would you like to be part of our Armed Forces Day National Event in Aldershot and Farnborough, which will be held over the weekend of 27 and 28 June?

Planning is well under way, with a military march along Queens Avenue, displays, a funfair, entertainment and stalls, planned for Saturday 27 June, followed by a community-focused day on Sunday 28 June, including sport competitions, cultural activities, entertainment, and sport taster sessions.

We would love everyone in our community to join in and take part in this prestigious national event, which will honour the history of Aldershot and Farnborough, the role of the Armed Forces today and look to the future of our military.
